Hello,
We have a big issue with the HP LaserJet P2015 network printers. They randomly lose all their network settings. We set them to a fixed IP, and as if by magic, one morning they will revert to DHCP on their own. This is quite annoying, especially since we have several like this, and if I have to check all the printers every morning to see if everything is in place...
Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has experienced this or if you have any ideas, thank you for coming to our rescue.
PS: I have already checked the HP website for firmware updates, etc. Nothing new. I feel like I am the only one facing this issue.
Thank you very much for your responses.

Hello to everyone facing the paper tray issue with the HP Laserjet P2015d.
I had the following symptoms:
The first two lights stay fixed
The paper tray is not recognized, nor is the manual tray
Loss of USB connection
Random extinction of all lights
After disassembling and reassembling the machine thinking there was a mechanical problem, the same issues persisted.
A crazy but very effective solution I found online: Disassemble the control board and put it in the oven for 8 minutes at 175 °C. Let it cool for an hour, reassemble, perform a hard reset (press the green button then turn on the machine while holding it down for 20 seconds, the (!) light should turn on then release).
It works! Quite an incredible method, but it worked for me, and having nothing to lose, I tried it with a bit of skepticism, I admit.
Remove the tab before putting the board in the oven!
Good luck

On HP LaserJet 2015n, the paper jam and low toner lights are on, but there’s no paper in the path and the toner is new. If I turn it off and on several times, the paper out light turns on? Has anyone encountered this problem?
Happy holidays and best regards.

Hello,
I have a problem with my HP LaserJet P2015 printer.
When I turn it on, it does not initialize correctly. The mechanical part reacts (which seems normal to me) but the READY and PRINTING indicators on the panel light up immediately and remain fixed. As a result, the printer does not respond to any signals, not even with the self-test button located on the panel.

Hello everyone,
I also had this problem with the HP LaserJet P2015dn printer, but I resolved it, so my printer works fine now. I need to make a small clarification. For those who encounter the missing hpc20155.xml file during installation, where the error message indicates that the hpc20155.xml file is missing from the CD, causing the installation to be interrupted.
* It must be said and acknowledged that technology is constantly evolving every day along with its tools, accessories, and others. Hence, these accessories or consumables can be considered obsolete, if I may use that term for you to understand that this problem is due to the fact that the EWS on the installation CD is outdated and thus an earlier version than the one that has been released; therefore, the printer wants to upgrade to the new version of the EWS available online. In short, here is what I can tell you.
* To resolve the problem, here are some instructions to successfully complete the installation:
1 - Disable the automatic update of your OS (Operating System)
2 - Disable the firewall of your OS
3 - Follow the steps: Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> System >> Hardware >> Windows Update >> check or activate the option: Never check for drivers on Windows Update >> OK >> Apply >> OK
4 - Install your HP LaserJet 2015dn printer as normal.
Note: The installation should complete normally, and the HP LaserJet 2015dn printer should work fine thereafter, but:
NB: You should reactivate all options that were disabled before the installation to ensure the proper functioning of your other consumables; otherwise, all your other peripheral installations will fail.

Thank you, Glabulzateur
Your technique works wonderfully!
I have "baked" 4 cartridges and they all worked again, without exception.
Thanks again and thank you, Mr. Glabulzateur, you are saving me 100 euros per HP2015. Too bad for HP's profits.
To everyone!! This is not a joke, the story of putting the cartridges in the oven really works.

Great idea to put it in the oven at 175°. I had doubts about the result, but having nothing to lose (HP wanted €440 to fix the P2015, which is worth €320), I disassembled the card and put it in the oven for 8 minutes and... it works!!!! Incredible.
As for HP, this is the second printer that has crashed after barely 2 years. Terrible and expensive customer service. It's better to steer clear of this equipment.

Hello, I also have a problem with this printer; when I install it, the PC no longer recognizes the USB ports, neither the external drive nor the flash drive. When I turn it off, the USB ports go back to normal. I don't understand.
Hello
I had the same problem as you with the message "hcp 20155.xml". I lost the original CD and changed computers, but I found the necessary driver at
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/11841-hp-universal-print-driver-upd-pcl5/
One piece of advice: uninstall the driver for the HP2015 printer
then install 34056545-hp-universal-print-driver-upd-pcl-5, and during the installation, choose the USB connection
there you go, after that your printer will work
good luck

Hello,
For the loss of IP address, HP has a solution, a DIMM containing the latest firmware which, once installed, resolves the issue of losing the static address.
However, I still have a problem with my 10 HP LaserJet P2015DN printers, which forces me to manually release the jobs. Could it be a paper detection issue or something else? In any case, a light is blinking and I have to press the button for 3 seconds for the job to go through.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue as me?

Hi everyone who might encounter the paper tray issue with the HP Laserjet P2015d.
I had the following symptoms:
The first two lights stay on
The paper tray is not recognized, neither is the manual tray
Loss of USB connection
Random shutdowns of all lights
After disassembling and reassembling the machine thinking it was a mechanical problem, the same issues persisted.

It works! Quite an incredible process, but it worked for me; having nothing to lose, I tried it with, I must admit, a bit of skepticism.
Remove the tab before putting the board in the oven!
Good luck!

FOR-MI-DA-BLE !! After months of hassle and terrible customer service from HP, our printer is working again after a little trip to the oven for the motherboard. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Glabulzateur and to this forum which has already helped me several times.
Hello,
I think the idea of the oven upgrade deserves an Oscar, but without informing HP, otherwise they'll have to admit that their after-sales solution is the bread oven....
Unfortunately, I had some connection issues with my P2015, so I changed the controller card, I paid 1200 dirhams (almost 100 euros).
I am going to file a complaint....

Hi, this reminds me of another issue: the PC clock resetting to 01/01/2002 00:00.
This happens in the event of a power outage, which reveals that the motherboard battery is dead (it no longer retains certain settings when there is no power). I think it could be the same thing. What might possibly confirm this is if those are the same printers you need to regularly reconfigure.
As for why they were not powered: power outage, someone needing an outlet to plug in the coffee maker, ...

Hello,
yes I confirm that we also changed >10hp P2015 in the network due to network parameter loss
HP acknowledges the problem but is only swapping the printers that are under warranty.

Hello,
I think I have the same kind of problem as most of you: the LaserJet P2015d does not recognize that it is turned on (?), I have to turn it off and then turn it back on several times in a row, sometimes that's not enough and it starts working totally randomly a few hours later, or even the next day...
I contacted HP with a lot of difficulties, and they suggested on-site repair for €220 excluding tax, which is 70% of the price of the printer that I bought 18 months ago!!!
Has anyone here filed a complaint for a similar malfunction by mail? Would you be willing to join a group complaint?
Thank you for your response,
vbadin@airaq.asso.fr

I'm working in network administration at a hospital in Burgundy. We've had about 50 HP LaserJet P2015 printers installed and the problems started. Loss of IP address, switching to DHCP which puts us in a panic.
HP has replaced some P2015dn under warranty. Last week I called HP France Hotline for an issue with a P2015 that was switching back to DHCP and miraculously I got an operator who told me: since the P2015dn is still under warranty, I'll send you the SODIMM that you will install in the memory slot.
Apparently, for the past week we haven't recorded any issues with this printer.
However, for those that are no longer under warranty, I don't know what to do: buy a batch of SODIMMs?

Hi, Vbadin,
I'm in the same situation as you. Except maybe that for my part, it's 150 2015 printers that are giving me trouble!!!! and with the same client.
HP only wanted to repair those that broke down gradually and has never given me any solution to fix the problems myself (I’m an office tech).
Between the loss of IP addresses and the bug with the machines (various lights on), which forces the replacement of the motherboard of the machine.
I’ve tried repeatedly to ask HP for solutions, but only having the hotline number, I always end up with a poor employee whom I can’t even "scold"; it’s not their fault.
I ordered a motherboard and the flash memory from Europarts this week in order to try to repair it myself for about 100 euros, rather than the 220 euros from HP (!!!!!) as soon as they arrive, I’ll conduct the test.
I hope it works.
I’m fully supportive of you in a joint request to HP, even if I have little hope against this multinational!
Keep me posted, please.

Good evening,
Having encountered serious problems with HP printers and also with their computers, I believe I have definitively solved my issue: I refuse to sell or repair HP products. I am redirecting my clientele to the highly skilled technicians at major retail stores.
Sincere regards.

As a micro tech in a hospital structure, we also have issues with the HP P2015. Apparently, HP France (for those having problems and still under warranty) sends us a sodim card for free that needs to be inserted permanently in the left slot of the HP P2015. The operation is carried out with the printer turned off; we insert the card, turn on the P2015, wait 3 minutes, and voila the firmware is updated.
The issues of IP loss and DHCP are resolved.
For HP P2015s that are no longer under warranty, we need to contact Europarts in Paris and purchase one or more cards. I am waiting for a quote for 10 cards; I cannot give you the price for now.

I strongly advise you to replace the main board/full network which already includes the flash memory that updates the firmware of the 2015. There is a difference of about 10 euros between the memory and the flash!
Knowing that if your printer loses the IP and ends up in DHCP, you will soon experience a permanent crash of the 2015. Which sometimes, very often, gets stuck with certain indicator lights on, whether it's the paper light that stays fixed, the first three lights that remain lit, all the lights on, etc., etc....
Believe me, I have a fleet of 150 hp2015 at a single client (a hospital) and I assure you that I am starting to seriously get to know these little beasts.
So at Europarts, the board is 50 euros, and the reference = Q7805-69003-N
For all those who have IP addressing problems and printer crashes, there is one and only solution: replace that damn card.
I have already replaced 20 out of 150, and it has only been a year since they were installed!!!
Good luck to all.

I have this problem too, I've tried a lot of tricks without success.... So I'm going to try the "oven method," but how do I take apart the controller board? Thank you for your help.
Keep it up like this.....
Bike is a state of mind,
don't forget it,
keep the spirit !!!
it's very simple, you just need to unclip at the back of the printer just below the USB and NETWORK connections
a little click and then we open it like a door.
you reach the controller board part, 4 screws and you're done
Best regards
and good luck
