Hello,
so here’s the thing: I have a problem with my two Pokémon Silver and Crystal cartridges on Game Boy.
When I turn off my console, time doesn’t advance; if I want it to advance, the console must stay on 24/7. I think it’s the internal clock, but is it part of the battery/m-backup memory? And if so, is there a risk I could lose my saves by changing it?

You ask a delicate question that intervenes in the versions released only on the Game Boy, Advance and Advance SP. So no, you’re not likely to lose it, but it’s a delicate operation to perform. Better to buy a new one for 5 or 10€ instead of buying a new one.. After that, if you’re REALLY attached to your Game Boy, please do, there’s no risk to your save since it’s on your cartridge =)
