Pokémon Diamond Language Issue

Hello, I received a Pokémon Diamond game in English when I ordered it in Japanese. My brother thinks we can change the language of the game, but I disagree; we can change the language of the console but not the game.

If he is right, how should he do it?
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0
