Scam on meetic

I just got scammed (well, not entirely, I was clear-minded enough not to get trapped) on Meetic. I received love letters that I could never have suspected were fake because they met all my expectations... then yesterday, a twist of fate, my "lover" was attacked in Côte d'Ivoire, and he lost everything. Of course, he asked me for help: 1600 € to be sent urgently so he could return to France. After 2 hours of discussion, he finally understood that I wouldn't give in and pretended he was tired from his day and needed to go rest.....
So, ladies, please do not give in no matter what this guy tells you: revenge, loss of a child, no parents, loneliness, etc... IT'S A SCAM.

I'm not on Meetic, but African scammers are everywhere, email, chat, sales sites, etc.
As soon as we talk about: working abroad, illness, accident, transporter, inheritance, and others, it's signed ......................

People report this kind of behavior to us several times a day.

The only thing to do is to cut ties and move on.

    Hello joelle.pgp,

Your post on the forum has caught our attention.

If someone professes their love very early in your relationship, be very wary. If you think that this person seems "too good to be true," it's probably because they are not sincere.

Requests for money or financial assistance should not be accepted. You should never send money to anyone you meet online on a dating site; just like you wouldn't give money to someone you just met in a pub or café.

We recently published an article in which we provide many safety tips to our users to ensure a smooth experience on our site: http://www.maveritesur.com/meetic/comment-utiliser-meetic-en-toute-serenite/431

If you notice suspicious profiles on Meetic, several options are available to you:

    - When you visit a suspicious profile: click on "Report to moderator."

    - When you receive an inappropriate message via chat: click on the "Report to moderator" button

    - When you receive an insulting e-mail or a request for money: click on "Incorrect Message"

We are at your disposal for any additional information requests.

Attention ladies to this site Meetic, men who don't know what they want, divorced or not, in the process of... well, they consume anyway while waiting... they take you, throw you away, not knowing if they're ready... some funny characters who make you believe they're in love one evening, and the next day they toss you aside like a tissue...
