Canal Plus departure abroad

Hello everyone,

Although similar topics may have already been addressed, I would like to gather ideas that would allow me to access Canal Plus abroad and hear your reactions.

1st solution: As I have a home in France with a Canal Plus subscription, I could request a second decoder and then buy a dish in Belgium and set it to the relevant satellite (Astra 19.2°).

Cost: that of the dish

2nd solution: Take the multi-screen option on my subscription in France, and access Canal Plus on my PC from Belgium, using a VPN, then connect the PC to the TV for an optimal solution.

As very well described here: http://www.tv-etranger.fr/canalplus-depuis-letranger/

Cost: Canal+ multi-screen at 5E/month + VPN Service: 7E/month

3rd solution: Subscribe to a new plan in France, then take the decoder with me and buy a dish in Belgium to receive everything.

Cost: additional Canal Plus subscription + Dish

I want to clarify that I mention the purchase of a dish each time as it is an apartment that I rent, so I cannot adjust or touch the existing dish that allows me to receive the "basic" channels.

I eagerly await your reactions.

Thank you all.

    Hello,
I'm a bit late to the discussion.....
Is the second solution proposed by louihton possible, namely subscribing to the multi-screen option in France and then using it in Spain?
The issue (which may not be an issue) is that I don't have a decoder connected in France. It's with me in Spain but I can't activate it since my building isn't facing Astra...
    Thank you.

    Hello,

I think Alex is right. The solution remains the use of a VPN, but knowing how to choose the right one is the most important. As for me, I have been with jcvpn ( www.jcvpn.com ) for at least a year, and they have impeccable service.
A little tip for getting images on the TV:
Instead of connecting an HDMI cable, you can use Chromecast for a more comfortable experience.

Technically, the best option is Fransat via Eutelsat 5WA to follow the 25 free national channels (of which 13 are in HD) without a subscription, at least in Western Europe. For subscription packages, CanalSat and C+ are via Astra with a Canal Ready decoder.

If it's impossible due to antenna or reception issues, then yes, a VPN (subscription-based) is indeed a valid alternative...

Beware of scams and risks with other internet solutions...

Subscription with a Canal Plus decoder; the second one must be at the same residence because they can control that, so it’s impossible to take it to a second home.
The ideal is Canal Plus with Canal Ready decoders that you buy yourself, and you can take those wherever you want, provided you have an Astra 19 satellite dish at the second home, and you take the subscription card with you for either home.

Yes, I'm sure they perform this check with the official demo. There are ports behind this demo that allow for a control with your home telephone line.
When a second demo is requested, they perform this check.

Bonjour, I also wish to install Canal at my countryside house and get a second decoder, the cube. Can you confirm that I need to connect the decoder to a phone socket as I don't have a telephone line in the countryside? Thank you.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your response.
When you say "they can control," is it theoretically, or are you actually sure of that? I ask this because I know that bringing your decoder to your second home is not illegal, and moreover, I doubt they can pinpoint the location of a decoder.
I would like to revisit your interesting proposal regarding CanalReady and the subscription card to transport. In this case, is it possible to obtain two subscription cards? Or at least one additional subscription card in addition to the "cube" that I would leave at my first home.
    Thank you for your reply.

Very well, in that case it eliminates the option "second decoder in second residence."

One question keeps coming to me, is it possible with multi-screen to follow two completely different programs on the two different devices? For example, one channel on the main TV and another program from a different channel at the same time on the connected PC?

    Thank you.

Yes, absolutely!!! I have a multi-screen subscription and since I'm not in an unbundled area, I can only get Canal Plus, Canal Plus Sport, Canal Plus à la Demande, and Canal Plus Cinéma! On the internet, I have Canal Plus Family in addition to all the other channels!!! My man watches his football and I watch something else by connecting my laptop to the TV (remember the speakers because his computer is the only one).

Currently in Spain, it's impossible for me to watch the channels!!! But I won't take long to bypass the thing because I absolutely don't want to miss "SCANDALE"!!!! I'm hooked after 4 episodes!!! Indeed, we can get around their geolocation system by going through a French server via a VPN provider!!! The only downside is that it's paid!!!! I haven't found any free ones! I will search more:

I use the Dreambox + satellite dish, with it I get all the channels from the Canalsat package (all the Canal+ channels) and also plenty of other packages/channels that normally require a subscription, like Cine Cinema Premier, Cine Frisson, etc...

With the Dreambox, I pay 100 euros a year. (it's illegal of course)

      Hello,

I found the solution and for less than the DreamBox and the VPN you mentioned,
it's ActiVPN, a French VPN service that costs me €2.50 per month (1 year) and whose quality here in the USA (Las Vegas) is optimal.
      here's the link https://activpn.com/fr/
