Red vertical bar next to my text

Hello, I have a red vertical bar that has appeared to the left of my text. When I click on it, my text gets underlined and turns red...
I can't seem to get rid of it at all...
Thank you for your help!

Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 25.0.1364.172

    Not very clear... but well, we can assume that you may have turned on track changes.
    And since we don’t know what your version is... hard to say more.

      Hello, I have the same problem as Ely. A red vertical line has appeared on the left side of my text, and when you click on it, all the text to the right of the line becomes red and underlined (like a hyperlink except that the color is red and it doesn’t lead anywhere). My version is Microsoft Word 2013. I assume it's the same for Ely.

        Hello,

        click on the Review tab, check if the "Track Changes" tool is enabled.
        If so, disable it and click on "Accept," "Accept All Changes" (or "Reject"…).
        This command, very useful especially if there are multiple contributors on the same document, allows you to trace any changes made to the document.
