Hello,
A few days ago, it occurred to me to browse www.lux-residence.com (oh yes! It can be quite pleasant to lounge around admiring prestigious residences... :-)).
Since then, many websites (mainly download sites) have been showing me an advertisement directly linking to lux-residence, even sites I've visited for the first time.
How do they do it?
I know that every server knows what page I was on before visiting it (that's, if I'm not mistaken, the http_referer...? ), but in this case, several days passed between my visit to lux-residence and a site I was discovering for the first time.
Can certain websites share cookies? That doesn't seem inconceivable to me, if they share the same advertising management, for example?
Or is there another method?
Don't worry! I have no intention of using this technique for myself! I have nothing to sell :-) On the contrary, by understanding how these sites do it, I might be able to find a way to protect myself from these intrusive marketing strategies.
Best regards,
jm-r

Hello,
if you no longer want ads, add Adblock to Firefox...
it's much easier than trying to understand how they do it. -
Hello,
Thank you for your reply, but I'm not interested in ease (at least, not always :-)). I really want to understand how they do it. There you go... It might be a bit silly, as we say around here, but that's just how it is.
Best regards,
