Automatic Login Net'Messenger Service Solved

Question

Hello! I have Windows XP and I use Windows Live Messenger. I would connect depending on whether I felt like it or not. However, for a few weeks now, I've been messing around in my control panel (Administrator) and I entered my hotmail address and password. And now, whenever I open my computer, I automatically connect to 'Net Messenger Service and I'm online for my other contacts. I no longer want to auto-connect to this Service and I'm wondering how to do that. Because I want to continue using W.L.M. and not auto-connect when I start my computer. When I log in to W.L.M., the other... Net's Messenger Service shows me that I've logged out of this service because I'm connected elsewhere (W.L.M.). I don't want any automatic connection anymore... how can I remove this??? Thank you!

Hello, I have a problem. I can't disconnect from the net service messenger without logging into Windows Live Messenger.
And I automatically log into the net service and it's annoying me.
So I would like help as soon as possible.

I have exactly the same problem as you, it's really annoying..
I've been looking for 2 days on how to disable this automatic login but I can't find it..
If someone has already encountered this problem, or if you have managed to solve it since your post, well I'm interested!!

I think the best solution would be to change your password... Automatic login will no longer be effective then...

To change your password:
- log in to Hotmail
- go to the options
- in the category "Account Management", click on the link "View and modify your personal information"

And normally, there is a menu on the right containing a link "Change your password"

All you have to do is change your password.

To prevent its execution:  Open the registry editor: Start then Run then type in the small window that opens (regedit)  In the System Registry Editor, delete the following key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run \MSMSGS   To completely remove it:  Click on Start, Run and copy and paste the line below:  RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove  Click OK and that's it.

No but Windows Live Messenger has nothing to do with it!!! Stop saying to remove the password or automatic login!!

You haven't understood, it's another program, different from Messenger, but it has our address and connects automatically!

That's all!

Otherwise, I have the same problem as everyone and it works again now! I deleted it and it will surely work!

I finally managed to disable the automatic sign-in on MSN Messenger "bingo"
The solution is below:

You can remove this information to prevent automatic login.

With Windows XP Professional:

Click on the Start button, then on Control Panel, and then on User Accounts.
Click on the Advanced Options tab, and then on Manage Passwords.
In Stored Usernames and Passwords, click on Passport.Net\*, then on Remove.
This operation does not delete your .NET Passport account but prevents automatic sign-ins.

Click on Close, then on OK.
With Windows XP Home Edition:

Click on the Start button, click on Control Panel, and then on User Accounts.
Click on the image associated with your account.
Under Related Tasks, click on Manage my network passwords.
In the Stored Usernames and Passwords dialog box, click on Passport.Net\*(Passport), then on Remove.
Click on OK, then on Close.

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!

Yesterday, I wasn't logged into Windows Live Messenger (I installed the latest version), and a window from Windows Messenger (an old version) popped up, one of my contacts saying hi!!!

I had reinstalled XP a week ago, then Windows Live Messenger, and every time I opened it, I got this message "you are already connected elsewhere". But I could still chat afterwards.

Actually, when I reinstalled XP, it installs an old version of Messenger, which is active by default, but I didn't know that (since Messenger is included in XP). When I then installed the latest version of Messenger, namely Windows Live Messenger, I actually have 2 Messengers, hence the infamous message "you are already connected elsewhere"!

All you have to do is uninstall Windows Messenger as follows:
Go to Start then Run and type this command line:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Then press OK

Restart the PC and that's it! XP uninstalls Windows Messenger and keeps Windows Live Messenger.

The infamous message has disappeared.

I have a problem with the latest MSN and WLM as well. I can't save my email address and password. When I enter the address, I can log in, but when I restart my computer, the address is automatically deleted.
So it's impossible to save my email address and password.

I have the solution. Your computer is on, disconnect WLM and WLM reconnects and you will see at the bottom it says automatic connection and below remember my email address and password uncheck both options then enter your email address and password then connect.
