Recharge via USB port freebox

Hello,

a simple question that might seem silly but is a source of conflict between my partner and me. To save energy, I've gotten into the habit of charging my iPhone 4 using the USB port of my Freebox Revolution server. However, my significant other says that it increases the electricity consumption of the Freebox, and I say it doesn't. What do you think?

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 19.0

    of course you increase the consumption of your freebox, it has to provide power to your iPhone, but not more than if you charge it with your own charger or via a PC.

    That is not the question. You have to read the question posed. The gentleman is asking if connecting it to his Freebox increases the Freebox's consumption; the answer is yes. However, I don't see how it makes a difference whether he connects it to his Freebox, through his own charger, or through a PC, etc. It is obvious that the consumption in watt-hours will not change on your monthly bill since you have the same EDF meter.

    Hello, I have the Freebox and I often charge my phone on it, and the electricity bill hasn't gone up!

    Thank you for your quick response. In my reasoning, recharging via the Freebox means I wasn't directly consuming electricity, but rather using the current flowing through the Freebox. However, since you say it increases the consumption of the Freebox, well, I lost. Thank you.
