Hello, as I read on the forum, I also have an analog camcorder and I would like to connect it to my PC to record my videos in digital format, but seeing the photo of EasyCap, I noticed that the RCA jacks are female, whereas I need male jacks. Is it possible to connect the female jacks of EasyCap to a male-male cable and then plug the latter into my camcorder, and then connect the USB jack to my computer? Thank you in advance for your help.

Good evening,
you can connect a male RCA cable (red and white for audio and yellow for video at both ends. I don't know this product, I recommend Pinnacle Dazzle, which works very well with VHS camcorders or video recorders, the product comes with a small capture software. Pinnacle being a specialist in video editing.

The worst is not the most likely.

Hello, to transfer the content of an analog VHS, VHS/C, 8mm, Hi8 cassette, or an analog video stream, you need to connect the camcorder or VCR or other device to an "external box" that handles the "hardware" conversion of the analog stream into "digital," and then connect the box to the computer via a USB cable. The file is converted to MPEG2, a format easy to burn and compatible with all players, with the possibility of editing with "Studio."
You connect the box and the camcorder or VCR with an S-VHS connection recommended or composite (less good) (RCA yellow) and a cord for the audio (2 RCA red, white). For the VCR, you need a SCART connection with an adapter or cord with the "out" direction or with an in-out switch S-VHS output or composite RCA yellow (less good) plus audio, two RCA outputs red and white.
Remember to select PAL to have color.
I recommend the Dazzle box, either "Recorder" DVD only or Video HD, Creator, or Platinum, depending on your needs if you want to "edit" your films with titles and music.
The price of the advanced editing software STUDIO 14 HD (valued at €61 alone) provided with this box in "Creator" and "Platinum" versions makes the product interesting.
It can be easily resold online when you no longer need it.
There are exotic products like USB keys and 4 wires, cheaper, but be careful, they often lead to troubles, as seen in the messages from desperate members on the forum.
The format being 4:3, the image quality can only be judged on a standard TV screen. Here is the link:
