Outline issue driving me crazy...

Hello everyone!

I really need help with Illustrator.
For a few days now, when I draw a line, a selection box appears around the line, as if the line were a rectangle. I've changed the stroke settings (centered stroke, aligned on the inside/outside) but nothing changes.
The most frustrating thing is when, for example, I create a rectangle WITH fill/NO stroke of 20x35, if I switch to NO fill/WITH stroke, the dimensions change!

If anyone has the solution, I would be the happiest girl in the world (for a few minutes at least :) )

Thanks in advance and have a nice day!

    Hello!

I'm having some connection problems with my brain and I don't see what you mean by "upload your capture here"... :/ Apart from the B, I, S and <>, I don't see anything else...

Go to display and hide selection outline.

    Hello Dandriga!

Thank you for your response. But the problem is that I need the selection frame in order to modify my line or shape with both the white arrow and the black arrow...
I think I'm the only one in the world with this problem :(
I would like to attach a screenshot, but I don't know if that's possible on this forum?

I don't have too many ideas..

We should add to the image the tools palette, the contours palette, the colors palette, and the taskbar at the top.. to see what is selected during the display.

I made a rectangle this time so that all border options are visible.

In any case, thank you contrariness for responding to this topic! :)

With this screenshot, I just saw a whole thick "base" line, but when looking through the libraries, I can't see what else I can select...

      Hello,
According to your screenshot, your rectangle is 1 cm by 1 cm, so it's normal that when you zoom in on it, it seems like you have a huge border when in reality it is only 1 pt.

      Hello,

It seems to me that in the bottom right, it's the zoom (at 1600%)...
(just to clarify, I don't know Illustrator).

By creating a 1 pt square with Inkscape, I have the same view when zooming in at 1600%:

Hello Le Queniau, hello Le Gnou, (it's quite odd to say that... :) )

It's not an issue of the contour size, the problem is that the selection box corresponding to the black arrow is outside the line, and the one corresponding to the white arrow is in the center. Before this issue, the selection box corresponding to the black arrow was also in the center... and I was happy back then :'(

As for the rectangle, the starting dimension takes into account the choice of the stroke alignment: outside, centered, or inside. If you change this option after creating your rectangle, Illustrator will not resize your rectangle but will subtract half or the entire thickness of your stroke from the original dimensions of your rectangle.
      If you do not want to have the selection outline when using the black arrow, in VIEW select HIDE SELECTION BOX;

    Good evening,
according to what I can see from the screenshot, it is an option checked in the stroke palette, stroke alignment there are 3 options:
centered stroke, .. that is what is selected
    inside-aligned stroke
    outside-aligned stroke
