Hello, I would like to know if anyone can help me by giving advice on the different training centers for computer maintenance. I am a 19-year-old Cameroonian living in the economic capital (Douala) and I want to learn about computer networking. Can I get assistance from this forum? And if possible, download the courses to improve my skills in this field. This is my first time entering the site forum, thanks to a friend and colleague at work. I would like to connect with people in the IT field to help me understand better; here is my email: Email address removed Moderation CCM
I'm currently doing a training in IT maintenance at CNFDI, and honestly for the price I'm paying (almost €3000), I'm very disappointed... the courses are poorly explained, the internship is not provided, and to top it all off, it's almost impossible to get refunded... I don't know what Euratel or something like that is like, but maybe you should opt for that one instead...
Talk soon.
I can share my experience as I am an IT maintenance technician.
Before taking training in this field, I was just a PC enthusiast who thought I knew a lot of things.
But I had a completely different job.
I took an individual training leave at the GEFI center in Créteil and worked really hard during the training because, in fact, I didn't know much about the basics (systems, architecture, networks...).
In the end, we had a choice of several job offers and I was able to fulfill my dream of working in IT.
It's true that you need to be highly motivated before diving in, but it’s worth it!
Good luck!!!
Replying to a message from 2011, you are unlikely to get a response. For your information, there is no email contact on the forum; you do not give your email address on a public forum for everyone to see. The only way to contact someone on CCM is this one:

I just received my first courses on IT maintenance training with EDUCATEL, and I must admit that I feel a bit scared to continue with them. The courses are poorly done, I have to complement them with online resources, and on top of that, I feel like they haven't been updated since 2005. For example, they stopped at Windows XP, they don't mention Ethernet, they're still talking about USB, and a lot of little things like that make me think that if I am to learn a new profession, I would be better off saving my money and looking elsewhere. What do you think, is there anyone who has taken this training?
Good luck and stay motivated!
Regarding my position upon graduation, I was hired as an IT maintenance technician at a gross salary of €1750, and on average, the offered positions were between €1600 and €1800.
I’m at your disposal if you want more information.
You are completely mistaken about the impact of the crisis on IT maintenance.
Because while companies may halt their investments during a crisis, they are certainly obliged to call on IT maintenance services when employees are blocked by IT incidents!!!
Imagine the company's IT network goes down, do you think the company will wait until 2010 to fix it???
IT maintenance is an activity that cannot be deferred, even in a crisis.
I have been working in network maintenance for 3 years (after GEFI training) and I can tell you that my company is constantly hiring.
I remain at your disposal.
Eli
Thank you for your precise and detailed response.
Finding a job after training is the dream for all technicians.
Moreover, GIFI is an excellent school.
You have to know that.
I am at AFPA, and I have already struggled to find a free 8-week internship.
Without the help of an instructor and their professional network, I would never have found the slightest internship.
I have doubts about hiring.
Not a single job offer from ANPE currently in the region and only 98 positions across the whole of France.
The future does not look bright for IT technicians.
Companies are no longer hiring.
The fear of tomorrow!
Best regards,
Awaiting a favorable response, please accept my distinguished greetings.
Personally, I recommend looking into CNFDI; I took correspondence courses with Educatel in computer troubleshooting, and frankly, I was disappointed.
This training is indeed expensive. I am a teacher and I want to change careers, that's why I opted for a training in IT and network maintenance technician at Greta. I believe it would be better for you to go to the unemployment office and ask for a training of this kind, provided that you are indeed a recipient of unemployment benefits. At Greta, we were told that this training would cost us 18,000 euros without support from the unemployment office and the regional council. With the unemployment office and the regional council, it's free. There is a small assessment test.
Hello,
I am a student studying computer technician training and I would like some correspondence to help me. How to troubleshoot a motherboard when it fails, how to do burning, how to install certain programs, and the different maintenance courses. Thank you for understanding. Everyone who responds to this question will have a peaceful, joyful, and long life.
Amen

I am very interested in computer maintenance. However, there are no schools here that offer distance training courses. This is to be able to balance between university studies and training in computer maintenance, so I decided to contact you, counting on your understanding to help me with my ambition.
While waiting for your response, please accept my highest regards.
Hello everyone,
I would like to be on MSN with anyone who wants to exchange knowledge about IT maintenance. It would be a time for us to enrich our ideas.

I took a training course last year at the GEFI center in Créteil and I now work in IT maintenance. I don't know if I could help you.
But it's clear that it's a super interesting job for those who are passionate about tech!
Plus, when we hear about layoffs everywhere, that's not the case for us, and it's logical because companies can't do without IT, so when there's a breakdown, they have to call us, whether the economy is good or not!
At your service.
At the end of the training, we are given a very practical summary CD with course summaries, course materials, and tips on professional integration, but I don't think I'm allowed to share it.
GEFI has been really great with me, so it's only logical that I be the same way!
In any case, good luck!
To find out if the technician training in computer maintenance leads to a diploma, you just need to check whether your training is listed in the national directory of professional certifications and if your training center is accredited by the Ministry of Labor.
