Good evening,
I just bought a Sony RDR HX 725S DVD player and I accidentally programmed the DVD1 button on the remote instead of the default DV3, and now the remote is locked. After spending a few minutes reading the manual... nothing, I don't see what to do to be able to use my remote... Does anyone have an answer to my question?
Thank you in advance.

Here is the miracle solution to your problem!
If you have changed the operating mode of the recorder to a value other than DVD3 (default value), the remote control will no longer work since it remains stuck in DVD3.
This mode for the remote control can also be set to DVD1, DVD2, or DVD3.
To regain control of the recorder, you need to program the remote control to the same operating mode as the recorder. To view the active mode on the recorder, put it in standby and press the 'stop' button.
Then set the remote control to the same mode as displayed by simultaneously holding down the ENTER button and one of the numeric keys 1, 2, or 3, depending on the desired mode. This indicates to the remote control which mode to use for operation.
DVD1=ENTER + 1 / DVD2 = ENTER + 2 / DVD3 = ENTER + 3
Phew! Saved!

To return to dvd3, simply press and hold "Enter" + "1" for a few seconds (if you are stuck on dvd1; "Enter" + "2" if stuck on dvd2). This unlocks the remote control, and you just need to go to the menu and set the dvd3 option back...
I also have the same problem and I just found the solution.
You need to reset the burner:
turn on the burner and press the stop and power buttons simultaneously for several seconds.
And there you go, the problem is solved.

I also have the same problem; I've tried with the manual but apparently it doesn't work. Should I buy a universal remote for this issue?
Thank you ...........
Thank you ...........
I have a similar problem as mentioned earlier, but nothing is working.
No red light blinking when I reconnect. If I press Enter and 3, nothing happens. In short, nothing works.
My recorder's remote control works with the TV, which is also a Sony, but I can't even turn on the device.
It is set to DVD1.
Can someone help me please?

Hello,
I don't know what manual you have, but I think it's this one http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2672837122.pdf
It's explained from page 22 onward.
Do you call that a DVD player? It's a bit more than that!
Bye.

Hello, I'm also stuck on DVD1 and I can't access the menu because the remote control isn't working. Has anyone found a solution? I've really tried everything in vain. Maybe I need to use a different remote or send it back to Sony.
Thank you for your response.

Hello,
Unplug your DVD player
Plug it back in
The red light should blink (do not plug it back in again and take the time to reconnect)
Now press 'enter' and '1' for three seconds.
And there you go, it should work
(to return to DVD3, do the same manipulation but press 'enter' and '3' together for 3 seconds)

Hello,
I've tried all these tricks and nothing works, still on DVD2. Could you please help me by pressing enter and 3? Nothing happens, I've unplugged it and done it again, still nothing.

Hello, I have the same problem. How do I reset it to DVD 3?
And my device isn't working:
Unplug your DVD player
Plug it back in
The red light should blink (if it doesn't, plug it back in once more and take your time to reconnect)
Now press 'enter' and '1' for three seconds.
And there you go, it should work
(to reset to DVD 3, do the same procedure but press 'enter' and '3' together for 3 seconds)
Help me, thanks.

Hello,
I was just gifted a Sony RDR-HXD 870 recorder and I'm struggling to configure the remote control to work with my LG LCD because the code isn't provided in the manual for LG.
Does anyone know this code?????
Thanks for letting me know if you have a solution.
Additionally, I was given a satellite channel and I'm unable to set it up so that it works through the recorder to have just one remote control and be able to record on the satellite channel while watching another channel at the same time.
Is there an expert in the field?????
Thank you for your help
Stef

Help for the person looking for the codes for their LG remote control.
LG being, I believe, a sub-brand of Philips, try with the codes of that brand (06, 07, 08, 72).
Now, my problem. I also have, since Christmas, a Sony RDR HXD 870 and, from the moment a scheduled recording of a channel begins, I am stuck watching it until the end of the recording because any action I take on a remote control button gives the message "function impossible at the moment." To program my recording, I follow the functions described on pages 58 and 59 (standard programmed recording).
I sent a message to Sony, which went unanswered. I called FNAC (my seller) twice, and the answer there was: you cannot watch one channel and record another. I was stunned. What is your position, can you record and watch another channel at the same time?
I am open to all suggestions.
Thank you in advance.

No. LG, which has its own sub-brands, is not a sub-brand of Philips.
This does not prevent devices designed by Philips (I dare not say manufactured!) from being sold under the LG brand. Unless it is the other way around!
Who knows.

To err is human, to persist is diabolical.

Thank you for the tip. Sony could note it in their manual.
