Need help with filters

Hello,

I am working with Excel 2010 and I have a little filtering issue. To make it simple, I have a table of staff records in which I have 4 groups.
I would like to create a filter on the first column to select the groups but also to remove the rows where there are empty cells (so they don't show up anymore since they correspond to staff members who never come, so from a practical point of view, they might as well not appear).
When I uncheck the "blanks" box, it also removes my header even though there are no empty cells!!!

I think it's clearer this way

So my question is: how do I create a filter on two columns and not the whole table?
How can I keep the full title???

Here is my approach

Thank you all!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 23.0.1271.97

    Hello.

We can't do anything with your photo!
We need the Excel file itself to work on it.

    Hello
maybe simply by placing your filter on line title No. 7 instead of line 1?

I believe that’s good advice... to make a functioning table with filters, you always have to remember to use a clean header row: no merged cells, stay on a single row, avoid empty cells... With that, it should work...

    Hello everyone,

and if you want to, select A7:B7 before applying the filter for only 2 columns.

    I can't give the file, it's a confidential file.

I'll try, but as soon as I want to apply the filter, it sticks to the top... grrrrrrrrrr
