Hello, let me introduce myself, I am R2oL, 25 years old, residing in Burgundy and a bit clueless when it comes to satellite connections.
Having recently acquired a new TV for my bedroom, I took the initiative to mount it on the wall and at the same time, to install a 2P+T socket and a TV/SAT/FM socket so everything would look neat. So far, no issues with the wiring, but then comes the moment when I want to test my TV/SAT/FM wall socket with my current satellite receiver while waiting for CanalSat to send me the second one.
To have two SAT sockets, I cut my coaxial cable about 2 meters from my LNB head and added a satellite splitter with 1 input and 2 outputs with F connectors. And when I tested it, my first TV, where the receiver is already installed, worked fine and I picked up the channels. In the second room, I do an update and the receiver tells me "LNB circuit overload. Turn off your receiver and check the cable."
Where could this be coming from? The length of my coaxial cable for the second room is about 20 meters? Is there a problem with my wall-mounted SAT socket?
Best regards, R2oL. Thank you in advance for all your responses.
Configuration: Windows Vista / Chrome 23.0.1271.97

Hello, if your satellite receiver displays:
Overload of the LNB circuit, turn off the satellite receiver and check the cable...
Check your coaxial cable at the F connectors, which serve as a connection to the satellite receiver or to your wall socket...
The mesh around the cable with the aluminum (shield) must not touch the brass center wire (+), which must enter the connection of the satellite receiver or the wall socket...
It's the same for the connection of the wall socket with the cable coming from the LNB head of the dish...
If the mesh touches the central wire, there is a short circuit...
They must be insulated by the white sheath, which separates the mesh from the central brass wire.
