Hello,
My Freebox is relatively far from my TV, and I don't want to run a cable for miles to connect the two.
Simple question: is there a "mechanism" that allows avoiding a wired connection?
Thank you!

Hello,
oh dear,
if you read the documentation provided with the FBX HD at all, you would see that a Wi-Fi connection is planned between the two boxes; it's actually one of the best features of the FBX HD.
However, be careful, the first connection between the two must be made via cable so that the ADSL box can "load and configure" the video box.
A little reading, perhaps:

Actually, I don't have the HD version yet and I couldn't find the information by browsing Free's website, which I find quite messy...
But this perfectly answers my question, so I will consider a possible upgrade to HD.
Thank you very much.- It's true that you have to do some weird maneuvers to download the documents via the links I gave you from the free page, really, it's documentation, configuration, and drag the document icons to the download icon: a bit weird, it's true why not just put the ftp link directly?
While we're at it, also check these out:

ftp://ftp.free.fr/pub/support/GUIDEFREEBOXHD-BOITIER-B.pdf
it's pretty clear in the second one actually.
