Problem with unknown device port_#0001.hub_#0003

Good evening,

So here it is, for a few days now, I've been having a little problem with this unknown device driver! When I plug in my external hard drive,

I get this little message saying unknown device indicating that the USB device is not recognized! I've tried everything I could think of, in the device manager etc... I've updated the requested driver, restarted, etc... but nothing works! Could you please help me? Thank you!

      Windows 7 - in 64 bit, all I know about the hard drive is Freecom, but there is nothing else on it.

      If it's a laptop, look underneath, there is certainly a label.

      It's surprising, nonetheless, that there is no indication, no reference, no type regarding this machine!!!
      We know it's emachines, but that's not enough!
