Ubuntu problème pour lancer X correctement

bonjour à vous,

j'ai installé ce week-end ubuntu 6.06

Au premier demarrage j'ai eu droit à un lancement avec des trames multicolores ... alors j'ai démarré entre recovery mode ... tout s'ets bien passé.

Par la suite j'ai reussi a lancer X ... mais la résolution de l'écran ne correspondait en rien a ce que je peux faire sous Windows
1024x840 avec un raffraichissement a 60Hz
( alors que sous windows je suis en 1280x1240 raf 75Hz )

j'ai essayé de corriger tout ca grace à la doc de http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org et la reconfiguration de X m'a amené à ne plus avoir que X en mode trames multicolores inutilisable.

Les ré-installations ne changent rien, ubuntu et edubuntu ( tout ca en 6.06 ) ne fonctionnent pas sous X

ma carte graphique est une NVidia geForce 6600 et mon écran un LG FLATRON L1750S

je ne trouve pas de drivers pour l'écran donc il était reconnu comme écran générique.

merci de m'aider a solutionner ce probleme car les 2 petites heures que j'ai reussi a passer sous Linux m 'ont convaincu

n'y aurait-il pas moyen de faire une reconfiguration automatique ?

le mieux que j'ai reussi a faire en reconfigurant Xorg manuellement ( j'ai déja appliqué ton conseil une dizaine de fois ) c'est bloquer l'affichage de X car le taux de raffraichissement était a 79 Hz

sinon quoi que je fasse j'ai toujours mes belles frames multicolores ...

la commande que je te propose reconfigure automatiquement ton X-server essaye sa coute rien en plus elle sauvegarde ton x.org.conf donc tu pourras revenir en arriere au cas ou :-)

quand mon X me fait sa tapisserie j'ai moulte fois fait Ctrl+Alt+<- et j'ai exécuté ta commande de nombreuses fois ...

chez moi ( suis-je maudit ? ) la reconfiguration n'est pas automatique et quoi que j'ai tenté ( je viens vous demander de l'aide après m'etre pris la tete longtemps a tout essayer ) rien n'y a fait ...

en 1 soit tu configures :

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

toutefois dpkg n est pas l outil grand public alors avant munis de toutes les infos necessaire ecran , souris , carte graphique ,
pour les drivers de ta carte graphique tu prends les nv ( nVidia )
il est possible qu il te demande la valeur du bus PCI
( du moins chez debian ) la valeur est donné par un : lspci
pour la rentrer tu tapes : PCI:01:00:0 ( cest un exemple )

pour finire un : Ctrl-Alt-backspace
pour prendre compte les modifs

si ça donne rien tu installes les drivers nVidia je pensses que ça doit-etre le meillieur moyen de regler les problem d affichage
perso j ai regler la resolution de l ecran comme ça chez moi

erf ... questions betes sans doute mais comment puis-je faire pour vous donner les logs que je n'obtiens qu'en mode console ...

je suis vraiment débutant alors sans mode graphique c'est un peu compliqué

es tu en dual boot win ubuntu ?
si oui tu as des soft pour pouvoir voir des partition linux sous windows.

salut concernant l'adresse PCI s'est la bonne car le serveur X retrouve bien ton chip graphique :

probleme résolu :)

alors je ne sais pas si c'est grace aux taux de raffraichissement ( sur la derniere reconfiguration de X j'ai choisi l'option simple et n'indiquant que la taille de mon écran ) ou bien le fait d'avoir indiqué vesa en carte graphique à la place de nv mais j'y suis arrivé ^^
