Dell Inspiron 580 Factory Reset

Hello, I would like to perform a factory restore of the used system image for a Dell Inspiron 580, no backup disk provided, no option offered by Dell for this function unlike HP or Packard Bell. Thank you for sharing your experiences to help me carry out this restore for the Dell Inspiron 580.

    Site information from Dell:

    Using Dell(TM) PC Restore and Dell Factory Image Restore
    WARNING: using Dell PC Restore or Dell Factory Image Restore permanently deletes all data from the hard drive and uninstalls all programs and drivers installed after purchasing the computer. If possible, back up all data before proceeding with these options. Only use Dell PC Restore or Dell Factory Image Restore if the System Restore function has not resolved the operating system issue.
    NOTE: Dell PC Restore by Symantec and Dell Factory Image Restore may not be available in some countries or on some computers.

    Do not use Dell Factory Image Restore (on Windows Vista) or Dell PC Restore (on Windows XP) to restore the operating system except as a last resort.

    These solutions restore the hard drive to the operational state it was in when you purchased the computer. All programs or files added since you received your computer, including data files, are permanently deleted from the hard drive. Documents, spreadsheets, emails, digital photos, and music files are examples of data files. Therefore, it is advisable, as far as possible, to back up all data before using PC Restore or Factory Image Restore.
    Windows Vista: Dell Factory Image Restore

    1. Turn on the computer. When the Dell logo appears, press <F8> several times to access the Advanced Boot Options window in Vista.

    2. Select Repair your computer.

    The System Recovery Options window appears.

    3. Select a keyboard layout, then click Next.

    4. To access the repair options, log in as a local user. To access the command prompt, enter administrator in the Username field, then click OK.

    5. Click on Dell Factory Image Restore.

    NOTE: depending on your configuration, you may need to select Dell Factory Tools, and then Dell Factory Image Restore.

    The welcome screen for Dell Factory Image Restore appears.

    6. Click Next.

    The Confirm Data Deletion screen appears.
    WARNING: if you do not wish to proceed with the factory image restore, click Cancel.

    7. Check the box to confirm that you want to begin reformatting the hard drive and restoring system software to its original state, then click Next.

    The restoration process begins; it may take five minutes or more. A message appears when the operating system and pre-installed applications have been restored to their factory condition.

    8. Click Finish to restart the system.

    Originally, I wanted to install a proxy, and I chose Zilla; the result was disastrous. Although the computer was functioning, there were many connection problems, if not an inability to connect.
