Split square into smaller squares. Illustrator.

Bonjour,

I am currently looking for a function that allows me to divide a square into smaller squares. Let me explain: I am in Illustrator, I created a square and I want to divide it into 4 squares, and repeat the operation until there are small squares filling my original square.

Is there such a function in Illustrator?

    If you know the size of the smallest final square, you can put it in the color chart and use it to fill the largest square (via drag-and-drop).
