Philips CD191 phone not working

Hello,
We finally decided to replace the old phone we had, which was at the end of its life, and we opted for a Philips CD191.
After the connections, based on the old one, etc., the phone initially didn't ring when it received a call, and when we picked up, there was nothing on the line. While trying to check the wires and connections, now the phone isn't receiving anything at all!
We tried resetting the phone, removing and reinserting the batteries, but nothing works; regarding the connections, we don't understand where it could be stuck.

What is the problem?

Hi (if) you haven't touched anything in your connection, there's no reason it shouldn't work. Leave the old phone socket plugged in and keep the new socket.

A saying goes: when nothing works, start by reading the manual.

It didn't seem necessary for me to specify that the little manual provided with the phone, which doesn't really help with the installation of the phone but rather with its use, which is easier to use than to install, we read it and re-read it without success. The tips at the end do not address this problem at all.
