Hello,
I have a Canon Pixma MP 510 printer (copying, scanning, printing)
since the last use, it displays the error code "6800" on the screen.
I was printing coloring pages for my daughters: all of a sudden it spit out a blank page.
I tried again: the same.
I turned off the printer and then turned it on again, and it worked for one sheet then the "6800" error came back.
Has anyone solved this problem?
Apparently, it's "A problem occurred while reading or writing to the EEPROM."
How can I do a "reset"?
I unplugged it for a week but it’s still the same!?
Thank you.

Hello.
Try to realign the print heads.
To do this:
config panel / printer / right-click on MP510 / properties / settings or
options depending on the model / align the heads

thank you fred
up to point "4" there is a change
before the screen displayed "6800" centered on a yellow background
and up to point "4", it displays "CANON" at the top left on a white border and the rest of the screen is light blue
but the green/orange LEDs blink 9 times (error 6800)
in "5" if I press 4 times it doesn’t change anything (light blue screen + "canon" + 9x LEDs)
if I confirm (in 6) and restart (in 7): yellow screen + 6800
I will reread: http://imprimante-en-question.blogspot.com/2007/07/imprimante-canon-mp510.html
if anyone has a solution... apparently nothing can be done from the PC -
ok thanks
I need to bring it back up and I'll try this solution
because indeed, according to some English sites, it could be related (always depending on the model) ;) -
Hello
Method for the MP510 to reset the counters
http://imprimante-en-question.blogspot.com/2007/07/imprimante-canon-mp510.html
1 - Turn off the printer.
2 - Press the "resume" button (red circle in the triangle), and without releasing it, press "power".
3 - Release the "resume" button.
4 - While holding the "power" button, press "resume" twice and release both buttons.
5 - Press "resume" four times.
6 - Press power to confirm.
7 - Press "power" again to restart the printer.
I had the problem before and it worked to get it going again, it might be helpful. -
It's been 9 days since I last used the printer.
I left it plugged into the power outlet but unplugged the USB.
I tried to turn it on this morning, and it made the usual noise (is it moving the heads? cleaning? something else?)
but there was some Japanese text (?) displayed on a yellow background
I tried making a photocopy: nothing
I opened the "lid" and the cartridges moved to the center position: okay
the red light is blinking (I have spares but can't find them: damn it @$?§!)
so I plugged the USB back in for testing (alignment or cleaning or something...):
"The printer is offline.
Check that it is connected to the computer and powered on."
I turned it off to try resetting it and when I turned it back on: error code "6800"
shoot!
See you in 10 days...
