    Hello
first, I need to know whether the scanner or the printer is not working
    next:
_according to what I researched, e4 would mean a "paper jam" (surprising, but...?). There is a procedure to follow, which is to run a folded A4 paper through several times.

_check if your color cartridge is not empty (also surprising, but there are times when it can affect the scanner)

_take a look at this site: http://imprimante-en-question.blogspot.com/...
it's a topic about the mp150, but you may find a solution.

_finally, uninstall and reinstall the printer software

Thank you for your response, ronin27.
The error occurred during a document scan. Now the printer doesn't work at all (printing, scanning, copying). I checked the website you recommended, and for error code 4, it states the reason as "color ink cartridge empty." Indeed, my color ink cartridge is empty, so I just need to replace it. I had also uninstalled and reinstalled the printer program, but that did not correct the error.
Thanks again, and have a good weekend.

It's really nice of you to be willing to share your experiences. Thank you. Indeed, my ink cartridge seems to be empty. It's the simplest thing to do, so I will replace it. Have a good week, thanks again.

Press and hold the cancel button for 5 seconds (sub-brand cartridges not detected).

It's still absurd not to be able to scan because of an empty ink cartridge!
