User manual for NSE URC22 universal remote control

Question

This is a free translation of the essential points of a N.S.E. notice regarding the URC 22B-7 remote control, which can be downloaded here: http://www.remotecentral.com/...  The processes detailed in this notice seem to apply to all NSE URC 22 remote controls, whose many variations appear to differ only by the type and number of devices that can be controlled. It may also be the case for the URC 10 and URC 20, but this requires confirmation.  This is a provisional document that I intend to complete and improve in the coming days. It is a Copy/Paste from a Word document, which explains some small quirks in the presentation.    Universal Remote Controls  N.S.E. URC 22   Code Introduction  1. Turn on the device you want to control. 2. Press and hold the SET button, then press the button for the type of device you want to control (TV1, TV2, VCR1, ... AUX) simultaneously. 3. The LED will light up, release the buttons. 4. Enter the 3-digit code for the device. 5. If the entered device code is correct, the LED will turn off automatically. If the code is incorrect, the LED will blink twice and remain in Setup mode (on), return to step 4 with another code and repeat until the LED turns off. 6. Check that the remote buttons operate correctly on the device. If not, repeat steps 2 to 6 with another code.   ____________________   Quick Search  1. Turn on the device you want to control. If it’s a VCR, a tape must be inserted. 2. Press and hold the SET button, then simultaneously press the button for the type of device you want to control (TV1, TV2, VCR1, ... AUX). 3. The LED will light up, release the buttons. 4. Press the SET button again. The URC 22 will enter Quick Search mode and the LED will remain on. 5. Point the URC 22 at the device and press the POWER button. For VCR/AUX, you can press either POWER or PLAY. Observe if the device responds (turns off or plays). If the device responds, proceed to step 6. Otherwise, repeat step 5. 6. Check that other buttons such as CH +/-, VOL +/- work correctly (i.e. that the device is properly controlled). If not, return to step 5. 7. Some devices are slow to respond to the POWER signal. You can press the SET button to go back. With each press of this button, you reverse the search direction: forward or backward. 8. To exit Search mode, press the button corresponding to the device and the LED will turn off.  Note: In Search mode, in addition to the SET button (SET and POWER buttons for VCR/AUX), the operation of other buttons can be tested, which means you can check them without exiting Search mode. The URC 22 will exit Search mode if no button is pressed for 30 seconds.  _____________   Auto Search  1. Turn on the device you want to control. If it’s a VCR, a tape must be inserted. 2. Press and hold the SET button, then simultaneously press the POWER button for more than 3 seconds and Auto Search will begin. 3. Press any button to finish.  No further explanations, particularly regarding the duration of the search which may likely take several tens of minutes.  ___________   Display the Code  The device code is a 3-digit number.  1. Press and hold the SET button and simultaneously press the button corresponding to the digit you want to know: 1 for hundreds, 2 for tens, 3 for units. 2. Release the SET button. 3. The LED will blink. Count the number of blinks of the LED. This number corresponds to the desired digit. If there are no blinks, the digit is 0.

Unable to determine a brand name with the information you have Mi(y?) home electronics is a common expression. CAB? PAL and BG are television standards. Silver is generally the color of the device.  The code 100 you mentioned, did you find it with the automatic search? Be careful, a device can stop on multiple codes, only one of which makes it work properly. So keep going, you might find another one, or several.  Manufacturers of so-called universal remote controls claim that they can operate 98% of televisions. Impossible to verify, of course. The 2% that don't work are certainly not Philips, nor Brandt, nor Samsung, etc.  You may have to fear that there is no solution for your TV.

The codes for Samsung TVs are 026, 033, 043, 159, 160, 170, 176, 212, 215, 702, 703, 716.  If none work, there is a problem, either with your remote control or your television.

Hello,  Unfortunately, it's not possible: the Brandt brand does not exist in the list of codes.  You can try the codes provided for Thomson, but it's quite hit or miss. The best way to find the code for your TV is to use one of the two search methods in the manual.  -- To err is human, to persist is diabolical.

Hello, I have a Worldsat decoder, model: Maestro NG4. The brand does not appear on the remote control list in the manual, and the "auto search" in the manual does not yield satisfactory results: with the automatic search, I get the menu display or the games screen display.
