Connect Wii to Laptop Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,

I have a recent Toshiba HD laptop that has an HDMI output and a VGA output. As the topic suggests, I'm looking to connect my Wii console to my PC. I've found quite a few answers online, but none really fit my type of PC.

The thing is, I don't know what to download or buy to be able to play Wii on my PC.

Hello,

You can't play with your Wii on your laptop screen because, as you mentioned yourself, the HDMI port and the VGA port on your laptop are outputs and not inputs.

Hi,

You won't be able to get the image through the video outputs, so you'll need a capture card if you want the image from the console.
These kinds of cards are generally used to record console videos, especially to re-encode VHS tapes, among other things.

Be careful, don't expect great image quality from the cheaper models, especially since the USB 2.0 they usually use is not very fast.
It's better to look for tests of the equipment in question before diving into the purchase, as personally, I can't advise you too much since I don't know this specific area very well.

There are capture software options, but I'm not sure if it's possible to get the image in full screen or if you need to go through another software or something...

Oh no T-T  And I saw that it was possible to connect it to a desktop monitor. Would that be feasible?  In any case, thank you for your quick and thorough responses =D
