Hello,
I found the following procedure on your FORUM to restore an Acer PC without a CD.
I successfully created the virtual disk for the hidden PQSERVICE partition, but when exploring this virtual disk, I can't find either of the 2 mentioned files: AIMDRS.DAT, MBRWRWIN.EXE, and RTMBR.bin
Could they be named differently? Does anyone have an idea? I'm not sure what to look for.
Procedure found
HOW TO RESTORE AN ACER PC IF YOU DON'T HAVE A RESTORATION DISK, IF YOU'VE LOST THE PASSWORD FOR ERECOVERY MANAGEMENT, AND ALT+F10 DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE, AND YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY 60 EUROS TO ACER
Note if the operating system is not working, it is possible to perform this procedure from another PC by connecting the hard drive as a slave or via USB
1. Data recovery from the hidden partition (PQSERVICE) for the password
a. Install the R-Image software to create an image of this partition
(This file will have the .ARC extension)
b. Still using this software, create a virtual logic disk to see the files
c. From your workstation, go to the newly created virtual disk and find the file "aimdrs.dat". Open it with Notepad and retrieve the password.
2. Reactivating the ALT+F10 function
a. Still on the created virtual disk, find the following 2 files: "mbrwrwin.exe" and "rtmbr.bin"
b. Copy these 2 files to the c:\ drive
c. From the MS-DOS command prompt (Windows accessory) on c:\, type the following command: "mbrwrwin install rtmbr.bin"
d. The function has been reactivated.
3. Starting the restoration
a. At startup of the PC, go into the setup to check if the D2D function is set to ENABLED (normally, this is a default setting...but one never knows.)
b. Once the verification is done and the PC has restarted, as soon as the ACER logo appears, simultaneously press ALT+F10 to launch the restoration utility.
c. When it asks for the password, type the one found in the aimdrs.dat file. WARNING: the keyboard is in QWERTY mode, so you might think you're typing your password, but since some letters are switched, it won’t work.
4. Normally at this point...everything works and the restoration takes place without issue. I hope this helps. I spent a whole day on this and it really pissed me off to give 60 euros to those Acer clowns after I already spent 1000 euros on a computer that's still under warranty. If there's still a problem, I'll try to help as much as I can.

Good evening,
Why go through this procedure???
At startup, hold down ALT and tap F10 continuously until something happens. (Also try with ALT GR)
If that doesn't work, go into the BIOS (F2 at startup), in MAIN, you should have a line for D2D Recovery, it needs to be marked as ENABLED, if it says DISABLED, change it and save by closing.

It’s useless. I forgot my HDD password and typed it on the numeric keypad. The whole computer is locked except for the BIOS. And my factory restore CD gets stuck after 3 minutes of installation. I can't take it anymore!
