Hello,

I use SFR Webmail (on XP and Firefox) as my email client and I would like to back up my address book, for security reasons and also to populate another email service (e.g. Gmail).
I can't seem to find the command to export it from SFR...

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks in advance

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 12.0

    Hello,
To import contacts from SFR mail to GMAIL:

    - go to the "settings" of Gmail
    - then to the "accounts and import" tab
    - "Import mail and contacts"
    - enter your (SFR) address and password
    - only check contacts.

...the export of the address book via SFR's webmail does not exist.

A tip from a contributor (SFR):

3ACTION/ select "write an email" - then all contacts - they will display in the recipients box. From there, "copy-paste" works. Copy to a Word page and then paste into an Excel table for easier organization and sorting...."

Ingenious your solution Pasthou: I managed to create a Word file, but I think the final file should be in 1 column and I'm stuck in Excel on transforming 1 row and X columns into 1 column and X rows... there must be a command but I haven't used Excel in a long time

    .....for the manipulation.[ to try...]

    >>On Yahoo's webmail, select all your contacts and do a copy

    >>Create a text document [right click on the desktop, New...] that you open and do a paste and save it.

    >>Open your txt file and select your contact list and do a copy.

    >>Launch Excel, File>> New>>Edit>>Paste special choose text and OK......in principle you should have your email addresses one below the other....

    Good evening Pasthou,

    I'm back,
I tried your second method, but the result is that all the addresses are next to each other, separated by a comma, but in a single Excel cell (by the way, this is for the SFR webmail and not Yahoo)

However, I found (not by myself) the command that exists in Excel and I'm sharing it here so it can help others:
from the opening of the Word document,
1- copy the series of horizontal cells
    2- select the destination cell
    3- context menu: special paste
    4- check "transpose"
    5- OK
    the result is what's desired

    Problem solved

Thanks again Pasthou, you helped me not to give up.

Thank you energizer64, but I haven't decided which address I will take yet: Gmail, hotmail, yahoo..

    See you later.

    Sorry for the false manipulation!!

A simpler solution: (based on pasthou's contribution)
    1- Start a new email
2- Select all contacts in the window that opened
3- At the bottom of the table, the small "To" window is filled with all the contacts' addresses: copy all the addresses.
    4- Open the Windows "Notepad"
5- Then paste the list of addresses
6- You have obtained a ".txt" text file that you will save
7- Open this file with Excel: specify "all files" at the opening
8- Excel then offers the text import wizard
9- Specify "delimited data", next, then the separators observed in the text, for example "comma" and "<", then standard and finish.
10- You have obtained the desired result: 1 column with names and 1 column with addresses.

    Completed.
