Hello, I'm trying to create math notes on my computer but I'm unable to insert the symbol for real numbers that looks approximately like this: ℝ. I've searched through the insert menus (equations and symbols) and I haven't found anything.
Thanks in advance for your help!!
(I have Windows 7 with Word 2010)

Hello,
"A bit of history (T. Bouche):
In the old days, in books, overall symbols were printed in bold so that they could be easily seen. The problem was, how to maintain this kind of distinction when writing on a blackboard?
Actually, instead of pressing down hard with the chalk on the board to widen a line, we decided to double it.
What’s funny is that, in response, books started to copy the teachers' usage, and distinguished between "bold" (bold), and "blackboard bold" which is a separate font (normal drawing with a doubled line)."
(found here).
If you want to be a purist, you simply have to use the bold R, which looks like this: R.
You might also want to increase the size of this R to make it stand out better.
