Greek in my Word!

Hello,

I was typing a report in Word, I went to Google for information, and when I wanted to continue typing, my text was being typed in Greek. It's even funnier because I didn't even know I could type in Greek, a language I actually know.
My question is twofold: how do I switch Word back to French? I checked in "Tools/Language", and it's set to French. I unchecked and rechecked it. It's still in Greek!
How could this phenomenon have occurred? Could a system restore fix this kind of issue? I'm annoyed because I'm going to lose the history of my searches from the day.
On the other hand, I would like to be able to switch to Greek later on if the occasion arises. Thank you for your responses.

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0

    Hello

Do you also have Greek as an input language in the keyboard settings under the control panel and regional and language options?

      Hello,

      No, French and English.

The most surprising thing: this morning, I opened another Word document and I could rewrite in French, I quickly opened another one, the same. I went back to the "mystery folder" and there, I can still only write in Greek. I went back to check the language used in this file, it is indeed checked for French. ?????

I had the impression, but I'm not sure (since I type very fast) that I might have accidentally created a shortcut (to switch to Greek?). I don't know if that's possible. In any case, I can switch from one document to another, from Greek to French, without touching anything. I managed to transfer the beginning of my report to another document and ultimately, I would like to keep this document where I can write in Greek if only I am afraid it might be a virus.

Kaspersky isn't reacting and I did a quick scan with MBAM, nothing either. Do you think I can keep it safely or would I be better off destroying it for safety?
I would really like to understand the key to the mystery...!. Thank you for your help.

      Hello,

You probably used the Symbol font. There is indeed a shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Q), but usually it's just for one character.

Select your text, check the font used, and switch it back to Arial. What does it look like?

On your screen in the toolbar, you should have the language bar!
Click on it and see what you have installed.

    See the image.
