Hello,
I created a document with Word, inserted a date field formatted in French DD/MM/YYYY linked to an Excel spreadsheet, also formatted DD/MM/YYYY, with the settings of both software set to French, and despite that, the merged document displays a date in MM/DD/YYYY.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

You can, using a formatting switch, apply the desired format to dates extracted from a Date column in your spreadsheet in the merged documents. If you insert a Date field in your main document and then press ALT+F9, here’s what you get:
To ensure all dates in the merged documents display as 18 February 2008 (regardless of their formatting in the spreadsheet cells), add the following switch (shown in bold) to the field code:
I found this solution on the website http://office.microsoft.com/fr-fr/word/HA011164951036.aspx#field%20codes
however the recommended format was:
{ MERGEFIELD "Date" } To ensure all dates in the merged documents display as 18 February 2008 (regardless of their formatting in the spreadsheet cells), add the following switch (shown in bold) to the field code:
{ MERGEFIELD "Date" \@ "d MMMM yyyy" } I found this solution on the website http://office.microsoft.com/fr-fr/word/HA011164951036.aspx#field%20codes
however the recommended format was:
{ MERGEFIELD "Date" \@ "j MMMM aaaa" } but this did not work properly in my version of Word, I did not delve into the reasons for this malfunction, I simply limited myself to finding the workaround somewhat randomly, by looking at the formatting of a date inserted as a field.
Thanks, I tried your formula and it works very, very well. For me too, the one suggested didn’t work.
If in the meantime you have a solution to put the month in digits (e.g., August 28, 2008 = 28/08/2008) please post it, because for the documents I use I prefer to have the date in digits. That said, it's already good!
bye
To get the date in the format 28/08/2008
you just need to use \@ "dd/MM/yyyy"
the MM must be in uppercase because mmmm means month name.
