Hello, for 3 days my PS3 (Slim) has not been detecting my games (sometimes it reads them). At first, as soon as I inserted my game, the disc would start spinning and then stop, the console would start ejecting the disc and then pull it back in. So I tried a DVD and it worked. When I turned off my console for a few hours, the game that was already inserted was detected by the PlayStation, so I wanted to change games but it did the same thing again. So it reads when it wants to O.o does anyone have a solution please?

Surely a lens problem.
Have you ever cleaned the lens? (You need to disassemble your console to do this; it's the small blue circle under the CD drive; you rub it with a damp chamois leather...)
If you don't dare to disassemble it, ask a specialist...
Hoping to have helped you,
Best regards.

I need to get one back for the PS3, sorry but I have a [PS4], it's better.
Thank you for your response, I think that’s what I’m going to do T_T, I got it in mid-2010, it’s a slim and the customer service isn’t the best, and I bet they’re going to charge me a lot. Anyway, all good things come to an end, but I hope I can repair it because all my game data is on there and I really don’t want to start everything over O.o
Thank you all for responding =) Actually, no, I’ve never tried to take it apart to clean the lens, I’m afraid I’ll mess something up O.o I should specify that it works occasionally (when it feels like it) I insert the disc, it starts to turn but then nothing happens, it starts to spit the disc out but then immediately pulls it back in, and then it just stays in the console without anything happening T_T very frustrating.
(It's no longer under warranty, it has "sentimental" value because it’s a gift, so I don’t want a new one)

Ouch, I understand you, I had almost the same issue as you not long ago, and it's really annoying. My PS3 wouldn't read my games or DVDs, but it didn't eject the disc. In the end, I returned it to customer service and got a new one since it was under warranty.
You haven't dropped your console, have you?
How long have you had it???
I think it's probably the lens, the optical block, so the lens is stuck. You should send it back to customer service because IF IT'S UNDER WARRANTY, YOU MUST NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, DISASSEMBLE IT, OR IT WILL NO LONGER BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY...
I'm really sorry, I understand it's frustrating, but if you're lucky, in 1-2 weeks, depending on Sony, of course, you'll receive your console. If they haven't managed to fix it, you'll get a new one. What more can you do...
That's how it is and no other way, sorry... In the meantime, good luck to you and have a good evening!

Ah, so it's no longer under warranty, well, then look for tutorials on YouTube, disassembly tutorials, and you might be able to take it apart if you feel ready? If not, ask someone handy; if that's not an option, send it back to customer service, but it'll probably cost you a lot. As for the cost, I don't remember.
Hello, actually I had the same problem, my PS3 didn't detect my PES 2013 while there was no issue with the other games. I had to go to the system settings and restore my PS3 to factory settings, but be careful, you will lose all your saved data, but not the online data, for example, your master league roster. After doing that, I think you won't have any more problems launching games.
