CCleaner Registry Restoration

Hello,
I quite often use CCleaner, especially the registry cleaning part by creating a backup as it suggests in the form of a .reg file.
However, for the first time, I would like to use a backup to restore my registry to a later date.
But I can't find the method in the CCleaner help section, nor anywhere else! ...
Has anyone ever restored the registry using the CCleaner backup, and how?
