Hello,

I have a Lexmark S305 printer, and I changed the cartridges today, and when I print, I get this:

I have already done everything Lexmark suggests on their support site, and nothing works. What should I do??

Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 10.0.2

We cannot know what the problem is if you do not describe it to us.

    1. Check if the printer is powered on
    2. Do you have cartridges with enough ink?
    3. Cleaning the nozzles
    4. Head alignment
    5. Checking the printer

    Hello,

I'm responding a bit late regarding the topic, but I think my experience will be useful to you.
I had the same issue with my printhead.
I print a lot with my small printer, and I don't use or rarely use Lexmark cartridges (because of the cost).
However, I happened to not use it for some time, and I think the ink dried up. I did everything to clean the printhead, but nothing worked. I couldn't print in black. Nothing came out.
Out of frustration, I sent an email to Lexmark's service explaining my problem.
They asked me to send them my attempts, along with the invoice, my address, etc.
AND a week later ... I received a new printhead for FREE, along with 4 XL-sized ink cartridges!!!
And all of it for free.
The facts speak for themselves, I would say ... LONG LIVE LEXMARK!!

    Have a good day!

I forgot to mention that my printer is no longer under warranty; it is over 2 years old.

Yes, when I say that I did everything, I really followed everything the Lexmark site said.

2 - Yes, these are new cartridges; I bought them yesterday, 2 black and 2 of each color.

3 - Cleaning the nozzles is not recommended on the Lexmark Impact S305.

    4 - Alignment done.

    5 - Verification done.

6 - Complete cleaning of the cartridges done.

7 - Cleaning of the print head done.

    8 - Firmware update done.

Cleaning not recommended? It's the first time I've seen that... Where did you see that?

    Good evening,

I join USA-France on this subject.

    Excerpt from Lexmark support:

First option -- Clean the printhead Please read the following instructions carefully before executing them. Go to "replace printer" in the printer menu. For touchscreen models: Tap on the ink level icons (bottom right corner). Click on Advanced Options ("More Options"). Scroll down to "replace printhead". For all other models: Press the wrench button (tools). Scroll down to "maintenance menu". Check the OK box. Scroll down to "replace printhead". Check the OK box. Lift the latch. (Note: Your printer may differ from the one shown in the picture below, but the procedure for removing the printhead is the same).

    Best regards.

    Hello,

For cleaning the nozzles: when a manufacturer talks about cleaning the nozzles, it implies following the cleaning procedure outlined in the manual. It is the printer itself that carries out this cleaning. Most often, it does so by applying higher pressure in the nozzles to expel dried ink residues. It has never been stated that one should wipe it with a cloth or any other thing of that sort.

Regarding this, your link showing the test page does not work without manipulation. Here is the link that works and shows that you mainly have one nozzle, the cyan, that is problematic. At least from the low-quality image you have published:
    http://support.lexmark.com/library/LEXMARK/ISD/Print%20Quality/Boxes%20Printout.JPG

If this page, which strangely comes from a Lexmark support address, shows drops in the cyan surface, but one cannot really assess the whole picture. Is this indeed the image you intended to publish? If so, it is clear that the cyan nozzle needs to be cleaned according to the procedures specified in the printer's operation, and not wiped by hand, obviously.

    Best regards
    Have a nice day

I'm experiencing the same problem as you with blue prints smudging where I don't expect them!!!!!
Try contacting Lexmark's customer service directly at 01 55 17 41 69. Last year they directly replaced the heads. I'm trying this afternoon.

I never said that we weren't allowed to do this, as I said, I did everything you just told me. Could it be a problem coming from the ink cartridge of the printer? Because I heard there were many issues following the release of the printers S...

As for the nozzles, I shouldn't have cleaned them, which I did: Clean the contacts at the back of the print head.
IMPORTANT: Be careful not to touch the print nozzles and especially DO NOT WIPE THEM.

    Super
I’m not surprised to have a printing issue now seeing this:

I sent 10 photos in 13*18 with 2 photos per page on my S305 Impact and after the 4th page it started to smudge cyan all over the page and the magenta head is leaving streaks on the photos, even after cleanings, as well as on the test pages (and cyan is not printing at all anymore! - despite the cartridge not being empty: it’s two-thirds full and it’s almost new, just one month old!!!).

Despite the cleanings, there’s no change whatsoever!

So, what should I do, please???... I really need it; I’m having serious administrative issues at the moment!!!
