Hello,
I would like to know and change the tempo of my music to fit a specific tempo. Is this possible with GarageBand?
If not, how can I do it?

Thanks in advance for your answers !

Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 534.52.7

You can set your tempo very easily. If you want to work on an existing song, for example a track at 95 bpm, when you create your project you can directly determine the number of bpm you want. If your project is already created, click at the bottom middle, where you’ll find the second-by-second scroll of your music, the existing tempo... Click on "Project" and there you can again change the tempo. Be careful: if you have already created melodies (by MIDI input or via a real instrument), your tempo will align with the new one you set (speed up or slow down).

Hello, I would like to modify the tempo as well, but as you said, that will also change the tempo of my music. However, I would like to set the tempo of my music to be able to add loops.
How then can I modify the tempo without changing the tempo of my music?

Where you click to add an instrument, for example, at the bottom left of your GarageBand page, next to this icon to add an instrument, there is a thumbnail with a kind of waveform. This is where you can tune your instrument or your loop to the tempo you want. You just need to check or uncheck the box (above the tuning, I think) "adapt to tempo" or "follow tempo," something like that. I don’t know the exact term, but it’s right there. Basically, if your music is at 105 BPM and your project was created at 90, automatically your loops will be at 90, so with what I just explained, you’ll be able to set it to 105, so it matches the rhythm of your music without changing the BPM of your music. If you didn’t understand, I’ll create a link to show you because I’m not at home. I use GarageBand every day and I assure you that’s not the hardest thing. Good luck.
