I'm having trouble playing MP3 files downloaded from the internet using Windows Media Player. What should I do???

      Thank you for your response, but those options are already checked in the "file types" menu!

      Do you have another idea? I have version 10.00 of the WMA player. Can you confirm that it is possible to directly play MP3s on this type of software without converting MP3s to WMA?

    Okay, but I don't just have problems with these MP3s downloaded this way (I promise I won't do it anymore). I also have problems with MP3s coming from a portable MP3 player with files transferred to the PC.

    Version 10 of the media player can perfectly play MP3s.
    In my opinion, these downloaded MP3 files are probably protected.
    How did you obtain them?

      I got them through e-mule.... I tried to convert them to wav or wma with different software and nothing works..... I'm desperate!!!

      Is there a way to sort this out? How can I tell if the files are corrupted?

    "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with the audio or video device. Try installing a new device driver." appears when I try to play .wav audio files on my computer running XP SP2, while the files are played on my desktop computer?! Any advice, please?
