Bonjour,
I have a small problem:
I have an Excel file with a column (over 850 rows) containing names and first names.
I would like to separate the last names from the first names (one column for LAST NAME and one for FIRST NAME)
but since the last names and first names do not all have the same length, I can't manage to split them.
Example:
DAVID Martin
DOMI DE ALAVRO Pierre
are in one column
I would like (if possible)
Column A Column B
DAVID Martin
DOMI DE ALARO Pierre
Thanks to everyone who can help me
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0

Hello,
check out this excellent site
http://boisgontierjacques.free.fr/
section "string"
subsection "matrix formulas...etc"
provided that at the outset, the last names are in uppercase and the first names in "proper case" format
Good luck anyway because...

You can see that it's not possible!
How can the software cope with
DURAND Jean Alain
DE COURTEMANCHE DE LA CLÉMANDIÈRE Pierre-Joseph Etienne
GRANVIER Marie wife of DEMANGE
LAURENTIDE Annie widow of POULOT
?
It's up to you to prepare the list by placing a special character where Excel should cut the text.
