[EXCEL] Invisible sheet / password Solved

Question

Hello,

I would like a sheet in my workbook to be visible only when the password for that sheet has been entered.

I know how to lock a sheet so that it cannot be modified without a password, but I would like to go further by preventing a user from seeing its content as well.

How can I do that?

Hello,

If it's just a matter of easily hiding and showing a sheet, there's no need for VBA, especially if you're targeting multiple users:

- Format Menu, Sheet => Hide
- Tools, Protection => Protect Workbook (Structure) => Password

To show the sheet =>
- Tools, Protection => Remove Workbook Protection => Password
- Format Menu, Sheet => Show

Workbook protection protects the structure of the workbook, thus preventing the insertion, renaming, deletion, or moving of a sheet. If that's not an issue, it's the simplest solution.

By going into the properties of the sheet in the VBA editor, set the "visible" property to xlsheetveryhidden after applying your protections.

Don’t forget your passwords because otherwise, you won’t be able to see it either

However, could you explain the procedure to follow in a little more detail, please?
Indeed, I don't know anything about VBA...

Moreover, does your method allow for easily viewing the hidden sheet after entering a code for another user who is not familiar with VBA and knows little about Excel?

Hello

To access VBA, here is a manual

When you see the sheet you want to hide, select it and press F4 to open the properties window.

In the last property, "visible," select the code 2 xlsheetveryhidden

Actually, there is nothing in VBA in this procedure; it's just to set the property to very hidden.

Then, to view the sheet, you need to follow the same procedure by setting visible to 1.

It's up to you to decide if it's usable by others or not.
