PVR File and Thomson Television

Hello. I bought a Thomson television model 22 HS 42 46 CW with a USB output that allows recording TV programs onto a USB stick (like a good old VCR).
The system is perfect and works flawlessly. However, I am encountering a small issue. I thought I could easily read the files recorded on the USB stick by burning them onto a DVD RW (for example) using my computer.
It doesn't work because the computer does not recognize the files. The television records PVR files onto the stick. Inside these files, there are 2 parts: the first one, which seems to be information, has a .pvr extension, while the second one, which appears to be a video, is .bin.
Neither VLC media player nor Windows media player can read them, and Daemon Tools doesn't recognize them either.
I would like to point out that my computer runs on OS 7.
If anyone has answers to my problems, thank you in advance.
Best regards.
Jean

Hello
PVR is a container; it is read as such by VLC. You shouldn't open and try to read the .bin files and others (right-click on PVR and left-click on "open with VLC" for me it works on the computer of course

I have the same problem!
It doesn't work with a PVR file recorded from the USB output of a THOMSON television with PVR function. It seems that playback is only possible on the television!
This PVR file is not recognized.
I receive the message:
""No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio and video format "unddf", Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.""

Hello
I am also facing the same problem; in fact, the video is located in the bin file.
If we analyze this bin file with MediaInfo, we can see that it is an encrypted BluRay file. -
Hello
I even went further by converting the bin file into a logically readable m2ts file for VLC.
But no, VLC doesn't respond.
Then I used a m2ts to avi converter, but that program found nothing to read in the file; the file's encryption is part of the issue.
I searched on Google with the following text: pvr bin thomson file, the problem is known, there are download links but it smells like a trap!!!!
I'm wondering if, to keep it simple, I shouldn't just buy an HD TNT decoder for 35 euros, which would record in mpeg1 or 2.
Strangely, in my office, I have a supermarket brand TV, made in China "Brand seeltech," which does it all.
Recording in TS format, playing videos from another USB port, and built-in divx playback!!!! The downsides are no HD and a small screen. -
Good evening
It is indeed a .bin file, I hadn't done the analysis but this additional information may help to find a solution...
Thank you in advance to those who can help us.
Best regards

Hello
my external demo TNT Akira records HD in a strange format .TSV with the computer I "rename" this file "film machin.tsv" to 'filmmachin.mpeg' and then VLC recognizes it;
for burning Nero then gives me trouble with the original dh. I found another solution since I can capture TNT via terrestrial by not recording the channels that also exist in SD like TF1, Arte, M6 and other SD channels that are recorded with the PVR system, I then recover them in direct .MPEG that Nero can burn to DVD ISO and that a standalone player can also read.
SD quality in TNT is well worth that of a DVD, so I consider it acceptable. An added bonus is the free software to download "mpeg cut" allows you to trim the beginning and end of a film if you've programmed a bit before and after the actual duration of the film

Good evening
I have tried almost all the available players, I have never managed to read these files, I attempted with the extension "film.mpeg": No player wants to cooperate.
I know that we shouldn't make copies of everything to avoid penalizing copyright holders, but here we can't even keep a miserable report on our region.
One piece of advice: think carefully about what you want to do before buying a TV with this function which turns out to be useless.
To be continued, the problem remains unresolved.

Hello,
I copied all the files from a PVR subdirectory on my USB stick to an external hard drive; I plugged the hard drive into the USB port of the television, and it works.
I haven't tried it, but it should work with a DVD player equipped with a USB output.
But only a Thomson TV can read these files, or maybe some off-brand, Chinese, or other brands that come from Thomson.

Hello,
The BIN files from PVR recordings on Thomson televisions are somehow encrypted and cannot be read (or "converted") anywhere other than on the device that created them :(
See the comment on this file for example: https://www.lcd-compare.com/televiseur-THO26HS5246C-THOMSON-26HS5246C.htm
Or in one of the reviews, here: http://www.darty.com/nav/achat/hifi_video/televiseurs-led/grand_ecran_led/thomson_24fs4246cw_led_blanc.html

Facing the same issue, I haven't found a solution for now. However, when reading other types of files, the television proves to be quite comprehensive ;)
To record and read elsewhere after or without conversion, you will therefore need to use an alternative method such as the one given by Bernorenard or others...

Thank you for these details, but our problem remains the same.
Moreover, for an alternative system, we can take a "multimedia HDD" with or without a "DTT" tuner, but will we be able to copy the recordings onto a "DVD" (with a burner) or onto the computer?
The "PRV" file seemed nice!!!!!!
To be continued and thanks again to everyone.
Best regards

Thank you all.
THOMSON 55FU5663 LED 3D
I reinstalled the PVR.
It works, but... No sound!
Probably encryption, but it decrypts the image and not the sound!!! -
You need to browse the USB drive in the TV menu to play the recordings; there should normally be a PVR file inside with the channel numbers, it's that simple.
