Unpleasant sound on BeatsAudio of the HP DV6

Hello,

I have the HP6 Pavilion DV6 for a week now, equipped with the Beats Audio system by Dr. Dre, which is supposed to be a high-quality audio system.

In fact, I had the chance to listen to music and watch videos since then and honestly, I think I have a problem that is kind of disappointing...

I can't exactly describe the problem, but the sound is too... as if there are too many treble, I don’t know if you understand... it is too clear and therefore the highs are crackling, and it’s quite horrible.
I should try recording a song.

In the meantime, could you let me know if I need to configure the sound myself, which would surprise me because I think computers are supposed to be optimized before being sold, especially with such an audio system... or if I should return to customer service...

    Well, I have the same problem. And I think you're being disingenuous by talking like complete idiots who pretend not to understand and who make really USELESS remarks with every response. c
    And of course, we understood that Beats Audio on laptops was an old marketing gimmick, and that it wasn't going to have the same quality as the headphones, but even the sound shouldn't be that unpleasant, so if you can help this person, help them, otherwise shut up, because you really are a bunch of idiots.

    I have the solution to your problem: I myself have an HP mini equipped with Beats Audio technology, and I had the same issue, a kind of buzzing mainly on internet videos, and sometimes with my own music on my PC. In fact, it's not really due to the sound card, but rather to the sound source which is of poor quality compared to the card, especially YouTube videos, which are not in 24-bit.

    THE SOLUTION (which worked for me) is to reduce the sampling rate of the sound card by going to the control panel: switch to 24-bit 48,000 kHz, and you won't have any more problems ;)

      I have an HP, my sound doesn't crackle but the volume goes up and down by itself.

      Update this sound card, the issue is listed by HP and you can find the solution here, I’ve done it and the sound no longer crackles, the quality and strength of the sound remain, after that you will really be able to enjoy it because the sound is really good.

    I have an HP dv6 with the integrated Beats Audio system, and the quality is impeccable. I believe it's a manufacturing issue, and I know what I'm talking about since I work at HP France in customer service and after-sales support. If you have a warranty, bring it back to the HP retailer or store where you bought it. I hope I have advised you well. Sorry for the writing. Reply to me. Good evening.

    No, no, I don't have headphones, but it's the built-in speakers of the computer that are Beats Audio, the proof being that I can adjust the settings (EQ, volume, etc.) in a "Beats Audio Control Panel" window.

    Well, okay, but after a while, you have to read between the lines...
    So I will never say "speakers" again but "audio system," alright?

    Well, until then, I don't know if I should configure the EQ myself or if I really have a problem,...

    you need to activate the beats sound in the beats audio software if it hasn't been done already, otherwise you disable it and reset the equalizer settings to factory settings, but not in the beats software, directly in your classic sound settings

    I have the same problem but on the HP dv7. The sound is completely muffled like on an old radio. I took it back to the seller but they didn't even know what to do. They didn't even send it back to HP, telling me I could do it myself. Anyway, I don't know what to do, especially since I'm not a computer whiz.

    send it back to HP and completely change the type of PC if they don't fix the problem, it will save you hassle, I think it's the best thing to do
