Hello,
I want to buy a new laptop for my son. I'm torn between:

-Packard-Bell: https://www.amazon.fr/Packard-Bell-Easynote-TS44-HR-230FR-Ordinateur-portable/dp/B005WQZVNI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326821467&sr=8-1

-HP: http://www.fnac.com/HP-Pavilion-g6-1245sf-15-6-LED/a3723262/w-4

It’s for "home" use, internet music movies, and a few games like Saints Row 3 for example, or Civilization V (he mainly plays those on PC).
Regarding the processor, I've been told that the i5 of the Packard-Bell is more powerful, but in terms of graphics card, the AMD Radeon HD6470M of the HP is better.

I'd like to have an opinion to help me decide,
Looking forward to a response, thank you

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 9.0

If I had to choose, I would take the HP because Packard Bell is not a reliable brand at all, but HP is not great either.

It's better for you to go for an Asus, Toshiba, Samsung, Sony, etc. They are more reliable.

But anyway, sticking with the two laptops you proposed, neither of them is really meant for gaming, but if you have to choose, it's better to have a better graphics card.

Asus, I just bought one a month ago, good specs, but it showed a blue screen after a week. Luckily, I got a refund. Toshiba is indeed the best; I'm looking for one, but within my budget, I only find those with an Intel Pentium...

Well, normally there are no problems with Asus, but like everything, there are always parts that can be defective.

In any case, I strongly advise against PB; I bought one about 12 years ago and it's still working, but the ones today are a different story. Back in 2006, I bought one and the hard drive failed after 2 years, the power supply did too (desktop PC, but it's even worse for laptops). I bought one in 2009 and the power supply burnt out in 4 months, then the motherboard; fortunately, I was under warranty and since it kept failing, they exchanged it for a HP and I had no more problems.
I've read many times that Packard Bell had a ton of issues.

So between the two, the HP would be better in my opinion, although a Toshiba or Samsung would be more advisable.
