Connection between tablet and PC

Hello,

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 model 7510. The OS is Android. Due to its limited capacity, I would like to be able to transfer files between my PC (Windows 7) and my tablet. This will be done when my computer is turned on, and when I am in the same location as my computer.

Do I need a specific application for my tablet? Are there any settings that need to be adjusted on my tablet?
The same goes for my PC; do I need to install a program and/or configure sharing options on my computer?

I think the connection between my two devices will be through Wi-Fi or possibly through a VPN, or something else?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 9.0.1

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is recognized as a USB drive as soon as it is connected to the PC. Here’s a tutorial that explains the procedure (but it’s very simple):

I'm sorry for the late response, but thank you for your reply. However, I forgot to mention that I wanted to make this connection via Wi-Fi or another wireless system.

Without having to go near my computer every time I want to make a transfer.
If you see what I mean?

By direct Wifi transfer, I haven't studied the issue, but I use the Dropbox service to send files from my PC to my tablet and vice versa. I also have an article (of which I am also the author :-) )
      http://www.lesandroides.net/tests-applications/test-dropbox-sous-android-une-synchronisation-manuelle-avec-le-nuage.html
So an Internet connection is required... but everything goes through Wifi
But at least, if the files to be transferred are in the Dropbox folder on the PC, you don’t need to intervene on the PC. And with SugarSync, any folder on the PC can work...
But I will look into the possibility of a direct communication that you suggest...

Here I studied the issue. You just need to use the Wifi File Manager software. It's not as convenient as using a USB cable but there are no wires anymore!
      Here is a tutorial:

      Install this and it's good:

Tatatata. The problem is quite simple. YOU JUST HAVE TO ACTIVATE the "Removable Storage" Service on the PC and set it to automatic startup. To do this, under Windows (it was disabled on my XP), go to START / RUN / SERVICES.MSC and do the above. I don't know what this debugging story is about.

For my part, I put my files on a USB stick and then plug it into my tablet and it works, but I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 5110
    see you soon
    best regards

    Hello,
I have the same problem as Tonivege

"When I connect my Galaxy Tab 2 to the PC, it recognizes it as a digital camera! This is despite the Multi Media Device (MTP) option being checked on the tablet."

Except that I have a Polaroid MIDC 970 PR001 tablet, Android 4.04: I can only transfer photos (PTP checked) via USB cable; the MTP checked does nothing, nor does USB large storage..

I have other questions too: should USB debugging be enabled or not (what is debugging, by the way)?

And a remark on what Abutillon bouboul56 said: when I plug a USB stick into the tablet, it does not read it, unless there’s some manipulation to do?

I hope there will be answers to all the questions from others and mine
    Thanks in advance
