Good evening Flo,
You know what WinVNC is for!
How is your connection???
- Your friend needs to know your IP... which, generally speaking, changes with each connection!
- WinVNC comes with a password... change it!
Of course, you can also uninstall it.

Good evening ipl, thank you for responding
I know that the IP changes with each connection, however, it always finds it again in a very short time
If I change the password, he won't be able to enter anymore, but the only problem is that I don't know the previous password, is that a problem?
Thank you for responding, see you soon -

Hello.
Uh... are you sure it’s a FRIEND???
I wouldn’t call it that at all.
So just read this in two minutes, http://logitheque.zdnet.fr/logi/cgi-bin/a_logi.pl?ID=6244
and then, to uninstall/remove this program installed by your "friend," search for it in your "ProgramFiles" on the C: drive – logically, you should find it listed under its name WinVNC or maybe VNC, click on it, delete it. Period.
Besides that: I hope you have installed a firewall on your machine as well as an antivirus?
Good luck!
And come back to see us if necessary.

Re,
- you can change the password, no need for the old one!
- WinVNC / VNC is found in the "Add-Remove Programs" list, so: if you choose to uninstall, do it properly (through this channel)
- Uninstalling VNC will not cause you any trouble regarding Internet access
- VNC can be useful if you need help... the help of a real friend who can take control of your computer! But that's it!

I am the friend in question, and if you want to give good advice, at least try to know what you're talking about instead of taking advantage of this forum to flirt and make acquaintances...
-
Flirting???
Sorry "the friend in question", this is not our style, and I don’t understand what made you think that in this post.
I think you’re just a bit bitter at the idea that you can no longer enjoy your awesome "hacker" skills on Flo's machine (VNC... pffff).
It’s easy to defend yourself by trying to change the subject.
Ciao!

ROTFLOL!
Oh, this post needs to be framed!
Well.
So, my dear "friend in question":
1 - to respond we rely on what is written in the questions; apparently, FLO was very annoyed to see that "someone" was using VNC to access their computer (if I were in their place, I would have the same reaction...)
2 - we generally know what we're talking about (especially ipl above, whose skills are well established); now, if it were a challenge between you to see who would be the most intelligent, that didn't seem to worry FLO at all
3 - the purpose of this forum, unlike others, is not to chat ... sorry, to flirt or to make acquaintances (first, we don't even know if FLO is a boy or a girl...), but to help internet users, often anonymous, who request it on a volunteer basis.
4 - generally, we like those who enter here to show a minimum of politeness: "hello" "please" "thank you".

You're welcome.
And have a good day, dear "friend in question"!

great, the poet in a couple with his lady... -
Well, yeah!
Can you believe it, huh?
I might have just "flirted" (apparently) with someone who isn't my type!
I'm silly, huh? ;-))

Honestly, BMV, we wonder... we should suggest to Jeff that he create a dating forum....

No, thanks.
Not for me, anyway.
In computing, I'm not very good as it is, but when it comes to flirting, ... :-S
If it can reassure the "friend in question"! ¦-D

me, I found the woman of my life, so when it comes to flirting, I only flirt with my sweetheart... and there you go, but honestly, there are people who have misplaced ideas...

Hello
First of all, I am a girl and the friend in question is a boy. My intention was not to start a conflict but to prevent him from accessing my computer. I'm not looking for a soulmate, just some information.
After uninstalling WINVNC, it didn't stop him from coming back to my place. I'm a bit annoyed by his attitude towards me, but he's playful; it's not meant to harm me, but he's using his skills as an IT technician on my computer. TOO BAD IT FALLS ON ME.
Thank you, and I'm sorry for his reaction; he's usually not a bad guy, but I think I upset him by gathering information from your site.
Have a good day.-
Don't be sorry, it's not your fault and as you can see, the users of the forum tend to laugh at this kind of behavior rather than take it seriously... however, you should tell your friend that it's not like that (hacking PCs without permission and posting insults on forums) that he'll get anywhere...
. .

I'm not looking for a soulmate, but for information.
That works out since neither are we! :O)
TOO BAD IT’S FALLING ON ME
Uh no, that's not normal... You or someone else, it's not normal...
Alright. Let's start from the beginning if it didn't work.
What’s your exploit system?

OK.
Click on Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Administrative Tools.
In this window, you have plenty of programs running without you knowing it. We call them services. (I'm simplifying)
You should have one towards the end of the list called "VNC Server".
Double-click on it.
In the window that opens, it says somewhere "startup type". Choose the value "disabled".
Click OK and restart your PC.
You shouldn't have any more problems.
If you have a problem or didn't understand something, feel free to ask. Don't touch anything else but "VNC Server".

Oops, upon rereading, I realize I forgot something...
It should read:
"Click on Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Administrative Tools
Click on the "Services" icon."

and see if your XP firewall is up and running, it's always useful....

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE, I FOLLOWED IT TO THE LETTER.
WE'LL SEE IF IT'S ENOUGH TO STOP HIM, THANK YOU, I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED

Hello,
without wanting to add anything to the fire, maybe the friend in question has dropped a Trojan?
