Hello,
The title is quite clear, but I will nonetheless explain my problem in a bit more detail...
I am running Windows 7 64-bit and after installing a game, I find myself with a 0-byte file on my desktop...
I try to delete it, but it tells me that the item cannot be found! Indeed, it no longer exists at the location C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop.
Alright, having dealt with more or less stubborn files before, I tried various more or less aggressive approaches, namely in chronological order:
- booting in safe mode (does nothing)
- using Unlocker (doesn't work on seven)
- using LockHunter (tells me that nothing is blocking said file)
- using HiJackThis (apparently nothing suspicious although it's not a software I manage very well)
- attempting to delete it via the command prompt (not successful)
Currently, this file is hidden behind a sticky note, but it is winning the psychological war!
That’s where I stand! It’s not necessarily a problem, but it is a bit annoying...
I would therefore be extremely grateful to any kind soul who can help me!
I apologize if such a topic already exists, I rarely create a thread but no topic has allowed me to solve my problem!
Best regards.
