Hello,
How can I tell if my drive also functions as a burner?
Is there a way to check in the hardware properties or is this noted somewhere?
Because I am unable to burn an MP3 file. I tried with Windows burning, with media player, and also with free easy burner.
Each time, the burning or burning simulation takes several minutes, the disk ejects, and each time it tells me "burning completed successfully." And each time the disk remains empty.
What’s going on?
Thanks
JC

Good evening,
Simply, to learn everything about your burner, download Nero infotool here:
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/16053-nero-infotool/
And it will hold no secrets for you.
Don't forget to say thank you. lol.

Track means track 1, track 2, etc... that's normal.
For the movie, it was to check if the burner was working well.

Hi.
Is it written on the drive: DVD-R or CD-R?
If yes, it might be a Windows error. Download ASC. You will find a scanner in the tools menu that allows you to restore Windows to good condition.
See you later.

Well,

A tip, if you have RW CDs, give it a try, they are erasable, so there's no risk.
Have you tried burning a movie as data or music as data?

Hello Nemrod
I tried your burner. Still the same result, which is that after ejecting a CD-RW disc, it comes out showing as empty, even though the burning process was successful.
I then burned onto a CD-R (sacrificial, boooh), and finally I have a file burned, but it came out as the file ""Track01.cda"". What is that? While the file on the burner’s burn list was in MP3.
Goodness, this is quite complicated.
And to answer your question, Nemrod. Yes, I have already burned movies onto DVD-RW. So indeed, I do have a burner. Hence my initial question, which shouldn't have been asked.
Have a good day and thank you for your patience.

Strange all this....
Can you try a data disc to see if it accepts it.
As for Track01, you must have burned it as audio and not as data.

Yes, Nemrod, I indeed recorded it in "audio," of course. That's what I wanted. An MP3 file on my hard drive, to burn onto a CD-R or CD-RW as an audio MP3, and it ultimately comes out as track.cda.
My goal is to burn in MP3 so that I can play it on the living room sound system, just like on the computer, as in the car.
So, for a test film, I would say that I don't have any films recorded on my computer. But I have recorded one or two during the year. I managed to burn them onto DVDs.
Well, that's where I am.

So of course, the next question is: why doesn't it burn? I tried with free easy burner, Windows Media Player, nothing works. I see the burning process happening, the disc ejects, and burning completed successfully, but then nothing on the disc. Pfffffffffttttt the technology then.
Good night or good morning, it depends!!!!!!
