it depends:
- on the format in which your device saves photos (RAW? JPEG? TIFF?)
- on the resolution of your device (the more pixels it has, the larger the images are).
- on the resolution you use to take photos (this is often adjustable on each device).
- if it's JPEG, on the compression rate.
With a 5 Megapixel device, I can save about 170 photos on a 256 MB card (and the quality is very good).
Try to see if you can configure your device to save in JPEG format.
Then set the JPEG quality (do not use the maximum quality).
