Hello,
My problem is as follows: when I want to format my PC to install Windows 7, the installation gets stuck at the decompression of the Windows files. The loading remains at 0%.

Of course not. I ordered a valid key and a valid ISO from an official site... I don't see how this is piracy. Everything is compliant and legal...

I have roughly the same problem; however, after the commands are executed, the decompression still does not occur. What should I do? :s

I have the same issue as the person concerned by the post "Natsee": I have a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium, and I wanted to reset my PC due to numerous bugs and system latency. So I used the Windows installation CD for this, and when I reached the installation page to choose which partition I wanted to install Windows on, I clicked on format the partition before starting the installation (thinking it would delete all the junk on my PC :( ). Then I started the installation, but the problem is that it is stuck on the step of decompressing Windows files and remains at 0%. I used the first method from "druide," but it asks me for the name of the partition, which I don't know, so I did the second step by entering the two commands in the command prompt, rebooted the PC, relaunched the installation, and it started to work, but at 31%, just like before at 0%, it bugged and stopped, telling me: missing or corrupted file error code: 0x80070017
I would like some help to reinstall my Windows 7 please, thank you

Hello,
if anyone is still interested, boot from the DVD containing the Windows 7 ISO, go until the install now prompt, remove the DVD and insert a USB stick where you have previously copied the same ISO image as on the DVD, click on install now and the installation should proceed normally from the USB (it stubbornly refused to boot in my case, hence the change of media along the way), happy installation hoping it works for you....

Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I bought the ISO and burned it onto a new DVD.

I no longer have access to Windows XP on my hard drive because it started formatting. I can only boot from the Windows 7 DVD :s

I explain. I just bought a new motherboard, RAM, processor, and graphics card. My hard drive was therefore configured for my old setup and thus under XP. I have installed the drivers, etc. for my new setup on it, but now I want to switch to Windows Seven.
Yes, everything was working perfectly under XP, but now that I've started to install Seven, I had to click on format the partition to install Seven on it. Consequently, I can no longer boot from my hard drive knowing that it contains no OS. I can only go into the BIOS and boot from the Windows Seven CD, but the problem persists, the loading remains at 0% at the time of extracting the Windows files. -

I boot from the Windows 7 DVD, I reach the screen for partitioning / formatting, I click next, Windows files copy 100% and then it goes to the step: "decompressing Windows files" and it gets stuck at 0%. I waited 2 hours and nothing changed.
I tried to install it by allowing a 100MB partition to be created automatically for the system files, I tried with a single partition, and I even tried creating a third partition. Nothing works.

Yes, I think that's it. A friend sent me the site that his high school uses to get Windows software, and I ordered the seven pro 32bit. I downloaded it and burned it, and now I'm stuck. I can only boot from the CD because the installation must have deleted files from my hard drive when I clicked on format at the partition level.
How can I unblock the decompression? -

Just to make sure that you are not using someone else's subscription.
Use the Windows DVD to format the partition to NTFS with
format c: /fs:ntfs, as well as a chkshsk c: /f
Now you can always check the status of the ISO file with this:

On the same page where Windows installation is offered, look in the
bottom left, it says Repair your computer, you can't miss it or
otherwise, you must be blind.-

First the installation, if it's the same, you run these two commands one after the other, then you exit the console with the command exit
These two commands are sometimes useful when there has been another operating system on the hard drive besides Windows, for example Linux, or when Windows won't boot for various reasons. -

Identical problem, ultimately resolved by using another Windows 7 installation DVD: I initially wanted to install W7 Ultimate, but I installed a Premium version first and then initiated the upgrade to the Ultimate version using Windows' Express Install feature.
This solution requires having multiple versions of Windows (in my case, a MSDN subscription). For those who only have one version, try to obtain another DVD or re-burn the ISO image...
