Hello,
While trying to recover files with Glary, I found others that I didn't know about (my mic is second-hand). They are all in files like c:\Folder xxxxx\ (for example). If I try to restore them, I get all sorts of nonsense!!!
What are these "folders", can we get rid of them?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

"Folder" is the English word for "Dossier".

Look inside to see if you can delete them.

I can't see what's inside. I guess I can delete them. But how?
Thanks for your reply.

And does Windows show them to you too, or just Glary? If the purpose is to delete them, what’s the point of restoring them? Wouldn’t you just leave them where they are?

I couldn't find them on Windows. It's not them I wanted to restore, I saw them "by chance" and I think if they're not useful, I can delete them.
Thank you

The essence of my question is to know if you only see these folders when you use the recovery function of Glary—which I believe—or if they actually exist somewhere.

When you delete something from your hard drive, it doesn't really disappear: Windows just notes that the memory space is now free rather than occupied. But as long as you haven't written anything to that spot on your disk, you can recover the file that was there... which is what Glary is capable of doing.

So, I think:
1. that there’s nothing to delete, since it’s already deleted
2. that this is an old file from the previous user and you can simply not think about it
3. that finally, if it bothers you, use CCleaner and ask it to clean the free space on your computer :-)

Let me know what happens.

Thank you.
The cleaning by CCleaner is in progress.
I'll keep you updated, of course.

Hello.

"What are these 'folders'?"

Folder (computing): a virtual container within a digital file system, in which groups of files and other folders can be kept and organized

In French, it's better.
Folder (computer science): a virtual container within a digital file system, where groups of files and other folders can be kept and organized

"Can we get rid of it?"
Yes, but you'll lose everything inside. It's up to you.

Best regards.

Although some are marked as being in "good" or "excellent" restoration condition with non-zero sizes, when I restore them I cannot open them!
Thank you for your response.
