USB 2.0 port not working

My USB port is not working or is not detected. It does not appear anywhere, it's like there isn't one on the computer

Bonjour, I have a Siemens Lifebook C series laptop, and I wanted to plug a USB stick into one of its USB ports. The PC shut down by itself, and once restarted, the USB ports no longer work. When I plug in the mouse, there is power (the red light on the mouse is on), but the computer does not respond, and the same goes for all USB peripherals.
The USB ports are correctly configured, and no issues are detected by the PC. I updated my XP version (SP2).
I checked the electrical contacts inside, and everything seems fine!!!
I wanted to use a PCMCIA card to create a USB port, but the available slot is not compatible.
Please help me find a solution...

unplug everything: open the PC, unplug the power supplies for the USB board on the front, plug back in (way to recognize)
and let Windows do its thing at startup.

Hello, I'm having the same issue except that none of the USB ports are working. In the Device Manager, they all appear and say they are working, but when I plug in my phone, it charges but nothing happens on the computer. I connected it to another computer, and it asked me to install a software. It's an LG KU990i touchscreen phone, and my computer is an IBM desktop.

Similar problem with an ASROCK 945G, sometimes USB key is recognized, sometimes not... I suspect a power issue with the USB port... insufficient power from the motherboard?

To restore my USB 2 ports, I had previously flashed my BIOS R01-C0-DOS and it worked fine, but I encountered the same problem three days ago and after flashing it several times, my USB 2 ports were still functioning as USB 1.
Today, Sunday or rather Monday, August 25th, I downloaded VGA ATI 8.41 and VGA.sys from the MS Windows SP1 box at the following address:

On my laptop, all USB drives are recognized as A, B, C, D, E, F when connected to the PC's ports; but I have a new USB hub with multiple ports, and it doesn't recognize them. That's curious?
