Hello, my PSP is broken. I can't get it repaired because I don't have the receipt or the warranty since it was a gift. The seller doesn't want to listen, but according to him, it would be a battery problem. When I turn it on, nothing happens except for the light turning on (on the right side). I tried plugging it in without the battery: green light but nothing else. And with the battery, the light is orange, I don't know what to do. Thank you for your help.

Hi, I had the same problem. The PSP wouldn't start, and there was nothing I could do... I found a really annoying solution but it works.
You remove the battery, put your PSP in the fridge or freezer to make it really cold to the touch. Like 10 minutes or more, then put the battery back in and it should work. At least for me, it works every time...

I had the same problem as you! And quite simply, my PSP was bricked! I checked with customer service, like you I no longer had a receipt and the warranty had expired, and they told me that sending the PSP to Sony, just the shipping, would cost €130!
So I waited, and I found the solution... The PANDORA kit! You need a second working PSP to create a Pandora motherboard and battery. I was lucky, a friend already had this kit; he simply put his card in my PSP, his battery, then put my card and my battery back in, and everything worked :)
I hope I helped you a bit because I know what it's like to struggle on forums to find THE solution!
    Kisses!

Uh, if a warning light comes on, there’s no reason it’s coming from the battery (unless it’s a light indicating an error, low battery, charging error or something else, check the user manual...).
And anyway, you don’t really have a choice; you need to contact either the customer service of the store where you bought it or Sony’s customer service, and retrieve the warranty and all proof of purchase....

Hi! I have a problem, I downgraded a PSP, I put a custom firmware on it, it booted up fine, everything went well, I used a Pandora battery to downgrade it, and it was working perfectly. I started the PSP, did the settings, turned it off, and when I wanted to turn it back on, to my great surprise, nothing happens... The green light turns on, the screen remains black, it’s not even illuminated, and I have to remove the battery to turn it off. I tried the recovery mode, but nothing happens... I don’t think it’s bricked, because the screen should at least be illuminated if that were the case; right now, I have nothing at all, just the green light...
What could it be coming from, in your opinion? And how can I resolve the issue?

Hi, the battery is stuck in Pandora, it needs to be reprogrammed to normal mode and everything should be back to normal.

It's very simple. If you're in CF, turn off your PSP (by pressing and holding the power button for about 5 seconds). Then turn it back on while holding the R button, go to the configuration, and there will be an option for UMD. Press it and switch to no UMD, and normally that's it.

My PSP won't turn on anymore.
My PSP was in the middle of a network update when my friend unplugged it and took his memory card back.
Is it dead for good, or do I have a chance?

your PSP is bricked, without a kit you won't be able to do anything.

The orange light stays on even if I remove and reinsert the battery.

euhh hi. I receive emails for my PSP
I want to clarify that I also know how to unbrick a PSP
for those who are skeptical, try the Pandora battery for which you will find a great tutorial on PSPGEN.
Moreover, a PSP that turns on but the screen remains black is indeed a bricked PSP.
But no panic, with the Pandora battery everything returns to normal.

If someone knows how to make that orange light disappear when my PSP is on, please let me know, because otherwise my battery discharges for nothing.

Hello, regarding the screen issues, they can be replaced, I've done it before... otherwise, your problem seems to be your console being bricked... check that!!!

maybe your PSP is pandorized, if that's the case go to PSP Gen, download the Despertar v4 kit and install it, then read the instructions

So the console turns on normally, except that in games instead of UMD there is a key that says certificate utility...
No, my nephew didn't do anything; it was working normally before

There’s probably been some manipulation done by your nephew, but I’m not sure how to revert it since I don’t know this issue well. However, you mentioned it’s on 3.11; we can do a downgrade and install a custom (unofficial) firmware, and then he could do whatever he wants with it. Contact me via private message if you’re interested.

    Hello,

go to pspgen, tab "tutorials" and you will find the solution. If the power light turns on but the screen doesn't, it means your PSP is simply bricked. You then need to program a memory stick and a battery... I've done it 3 times already and each time it works again!!

    Good luck

PS: if there's a problem, feel free to contact me, I might be able to help.

      Hello,

My PSP is completely bricked; I accidentally unplugged it while installing the new firmware. The green light turns on for 30 seconds, turns off, and the screen remains black. I read that it can be repaired by transforming my battery into a Pandora's battery, with a memory stick, and that I would also need a working PSP, right? BUT HOW? I would be grateful to anyone who could give me step-by-step instructions.

      Thank you

Do you have a tutorial for making a Pandora battery, otherwise you can buy one directly online
I made a Pandora battery myself.

Bonjour, my son's PSP turns on, but after 5 minutes of gameplay, it freezes. Either you have the solution, or can you give me the Sony customer service address. Thank you...

Hello, well your son has the same problem I had for a while and I think he made a wrong manipulation with the USB connection (cable for transferring music, photos, videos, games...) and so it's unfortunate to have to do this but he needs to go to the settings menu > system settings > format memory stick normally it should work otherwise it comes either from the game or from the PSP but to find out he should try it on another PSP, but if he has the PSP slim (light PSP; headphone jack on top etc...) he should try to clean the disc reading lens with a cotton swab of course without water and gently.... if all this doesn't work but if it's a slim PSP that came out not long ago then I think the warranty is still valid he should take it back to Micromania with the warranty and they will fix it for free or otherwise if the warranty has expired he needs to pay about 90 euros for repair and that's not great....

      good luck

Well, the trick expert should stop talking nonsense about putting your PSP in the fridge or changing pixels.
First of all, if the LED lights up and the screen remains black, the problem isn’t the battery.
In most cases, the PSP is bricked, and if putting it in the fridge actually fixed it, that would be great.
Otherwise, for a PSP that has undergone modifications to the firmware and no longer turns on, or at least partially, try the Pandora battery. You can find plenty of tutorials by searching on Google. Alternatively, I recommend the pspgen website, which will guide you step by step, even for beginners. Moreover, this site is 100% reliable.

Your PSP is bricked. You need to proceed the same way you would to flash a PSP; check on PSPGen if you can find that.

      Hello,

have you done an update? Which features are not working exactly, what is the firmware of the console, is it a fat or a slim, and has there been an attempt to downgrade?

no, I don't know how to update it, I don't know anything about the PSP, it's my nephew's, it's not a slim...
My friend has a slim and we don't know where to find free games to download, and we have a personal media manager software but when we try to send photos or music to the PSP, it remains desperately empty...
Give me your MSN if you want, I'll be online tomorrow night and you can guide me live...
    In any case, thank you

It doesn't tell me what the console's firmware is, as for my MSN, I no longer give it out since I was hacked, the forum is there for that and it might help someone else.
