Hello everyone.
Here is my problem: I need to configure my two PCs for networking, but I can't open the link http://192.168.0.1 and therefore I cannot set up my DI-604 router.

What should I do to access this important link for the next steps?

Here is my equipment: 2 PCs running Windows XP SP2—each with an Ethernet network card—a cable modem—Numericable connection—a DI-604 router + crossed and straight RJ45 cables.

I hope to find someone to give me a hand, even if it has to be done via Messenger, so I’m waiting for a response by email for contact.

Thanks in advance to those who will be willing to help me out.

Start by rebooting your router (power off)

If that doesn't work, you'll need to reset the router. But you'll lose all your configuration.

It's also possible that the router's address has been changed. If you're patient, perform a network scan (address 192.168.x.0 to 192.168.x.254, 10.x.x.0 to 10.x.x.254)

See here to find the router's address: https://www.commentcamarche.net/maison/box-connexion-internet/643-192-168-0-1-192-168-1-1-192-168-0-254-comment-acceder-a-une-box-internet/

On another note, has the network ever worked? Do the green LEDs light up/go out when you plug/unplug the cables connected to the PC?

Keep us updated.

Dear kmanber, hello and happy new year

I am in the same situation as the previous user; the default IP 192.168.1.1 has definitely been changed, but how can I find the new address to access the configuration tool of my router (a Draytek Vigor 2500 We)?

I scanned the detected IPs with the IPscan 32 software but nothing is detected, except for 10.0.0.1, but that’s my PC’s IP, not the router's....

What do I risk by resetting my router with a pen tip?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello;
to respond to your message 192.168.1.1, it's a private network IP just like 10.10.1.1.
Actually, it all depends on your router. For less than 50 IPs, the private network 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.49 is used.
The best way is to go to Start, Run, and type cmd, then hit Enter.
In the DOS-like window that opens, type ipconfig /all and hit Enter.
You will immediately see the private network and especially the internet gateway address that you need to open in http://192.168.?.?
There is probably a password; refer to the documentation and then you will have access to the router configuration. Okay?
Good luck and more+
